He's delivered 5 watches thus far. All were ordered in 2006 and he's not taking anymore. There could be a new watch coming too, but how he can release something else while still working on his backlog is beyond me.

is that he delivered one piece.  However, it proved to have some problems with timekeeping accuracy.   He is reworking the remaining pieces to correct the problem.  As far as I know, he has not delivered any more pieces beyond the initial one.  Volker is single-minded in his devotion to making these first pieces to perfection.

We dont know each other but I have been following some of the forum members these few years and see their acquisitions and 'growth path'.  I am not stalking btw.

You have grown and more importantly, I see that u have taken a lot more effort in building ur collection, and similar to many serious collectors, you are beginning to built a portfolio that is u.  U have the courage to say 'Freak' doesnt speak to u as much and I applaud this.  How many could say it out when so many collectors are smitten over it and  it is easier to just buy one and join the club?

As u have both the  Kari and Dufour on the way, I am sure both would be significant pieces in your collections.  As to the 2, I have a sneaky feeling that Kari may just pip Dufour in your favourite list. Do continue to post as I enjoy reading them.

I think I agree that the Kari may rise more than the Dufour in term of my favourite (just a little bit more).
As from this morning, my thought process is no longer about whether Kari or Dufour fit better in this Trio collection.
But how I can expand the collection to make BOTH Kari and Dufour to make sense in the collection.
I think this thought excites me alot ;-)
Sorry for all my seemingly naive posting , I'm a bit different from my other collectors friends.
I like to be extremely edited in my collection. It gives me joy to go through this process

I can understand your though process.   I used to fantasize about some watches and I mean seriously fantasize (whatever that means).  After time, most grew pale but some stood out.  Kari is one of them.  Dufour is another.  You have up and down swing in moods and preferences but somehow, some watches always returns while others simply fade away.

The other watch that constantly begs my attention is Roger Smith. I like it when i first saw it, and when other watches caught my attention, I simply put RS aside.  When the inital surprises and eupherism subsided, I find RS there, patiently waiting and grabbing me with more passion.  There are many other watches that does that but price wise  way above my league that I dare not even fantasize.  Kari, Dufour and RS remains in an exclusive list that Dato, 5970 and some Journe knocked but could not enter.

I do not own any of the 3 watches but in my mind, there is no doubt which I will get should my financials permit.  Meanwhile i enjoyed the forum and learn from the teachers and experts here.  I look forward to adding more to my wanted list.

In certain esoteric circles, the three pillars representing the circle of life are identified as strength, wisdom, and beauty; the Milgauss is your strength, and the complex Urwerk is your wisdom, so I think you need a beauty to complete your collection. My suggestion would be a Jaquet*Droz, which exist only to showcase the beauty of design . . .
