Thank you Bill for your incredible appreciation of this unique watch. I have never seen this watch in person, however, in a way, it is utterly classic and almost - familiar - in a certain sense. It is almost eerie to like a watch so much that I knew almost nothing about.

After I read your profile about Daniel Roth, this came to mind: the Jean Daniel Nicolas timepiece represents the traditional Breguet watchmaking in some ways more moreso than Breguet.

Thank you for the pleasant reminder about Daniel Roth's past with Jaeger-LeCoultre, Audemars Piguet, and Breguet. I did not know that he had worked for Jaeger-LeCoultre, but again, I would presume that Breguet was where Roth's talent truly transpired and I see that inspiration concentrated in the watch you have shown your profound appreciation for.

I very much like the tourbillon bridge on this watch. I'll have to see it in person someday to appreciate it, as I'm sure it is expertly black-polished. However, from the photographs, I would say that the shape of this tourbillon bridge could potentially become the Jean Daniel Nicolas logo, his signature. It is evoking thoughts, provoking, and unique.

Daniel certainly paid hommage to the Breguet tourbillon as well as to the Daniel Roth brand of watches (much more obviously in the form-cased option which I will post a photo of later when I get home), a fact which I appreciate.

I hope to be able to see this watch one day!

Have been following your journey to get this watch for some time now and enjoy your post so much.

I am at a lost for words for this beauty and work of art, the master, the technical know how, all the hand crafted detail just blows me away!

Dont think i will have a chance to view one of his pieces under this name in my lifetime but i do enjoy your pics very much.

Would you have wanted to "see more" at the back if given the choice or is there even a choice?

I like the large surface given to the plate and I don't feel the need to see into the watch...though of course it helps that I received pictures of the watch in progess, so I know just how nicely the unseen parts are finished.

I had the great good fortune to meet Mr. Roth at the Basel fair this year and also to see another one of his tourbillons.
Great work from a humble man.
