Max has just announced the Final Editions of the HM2, which bows out after three years and just under 200 pieces in total. The Final Editions comprise 18 pieces each, in black titanium or rose gold with sapphire tops.

Press release:
Rarity is one of our key values, so, after three very successful years, Horological Machine No2 takes one last bow on centre stage in 2011 with two final limited editions of only 18 pieces each !
Based on the most extreme version, the Sapphire Vision (SV) case, I am proud to introduce:
The HM2 Black SV : Black titanium case back - green gasket – green 22k gold rotor (limited edition 18 pieces)

The HM2 Red SV : 18k red gold case back - black gasket – red 22k gold rotor (limited edition 18 pieces)

In these amazing last creations, the owner can see the whole striking 349 part movement literally suspended in between the sapphire top block and the case back. Unfortunately no photos, however good, do justice to these pieces.

Over four years and all variations, there will have been less than 200 pieces of HM2 crafted, at a rhythm of 3 to 4 pieces a month. I must admit that I am a little sad to see the last pieces of a creation, which was the first of the Machines largely inspired by my childhood science fiction crush.
Having said that, this creation which is one of the pillars of our Concept Lab and has largely contributed to constructing the aura of MB&F goes out with a Bang !

now 12 versions of the HM2? with a combined production total of more than 300?

Hi Arthur,
We finally never crafted more than 50 to 60 pieces of each gold HM2 (whatever dial variation - even though it was engraved limited edition 125 pieces) and did not either craft more than 25 of each Ceramic version (and there was only one dial).
These two last SV versions will be for the many clients who wanted the original HM2-SV and could not because it is sold out. And then sadly late 2011 the production of HM2 will come to an end... Is there still demand ? Yes of course ! But we will stop production so that it remains rare.
Thanks for the support !
Max
definitely the watch for the man!
The green and the blue version of the HM2 are definitely the best of the series in my opinion.
Thanks
