Dear customers, dear friends of
Habring²
Since Austria has with "Viennatime" it's own watch
fair and exhibition, Habring² as the only austrian watch manufacturer is proud
to give this event priority over Baselworld. While Baselworld is mainly a trade
fair, Viennatime and Munichtime are public open exhibitions without entrance
fee, which allowing watch lovers and connoisseurs to inform theirselve about the
newest developments and regular production of more than 70 major brands.
Viennatime 2011 will be held between november 11th and 13th, Munichtime opening
it's doors allready a week earlier: november 4th to 6th 2011. More info about
those two exhibitions can be found at: www.viennatime.at and www.munichtime.de
For those who visited Viennatime last year and
found the piano player appealing - we are happy to inform you that this idea by
Habring² has been adopted by the organisers. So in 2011 the life piano music
will highlight the very cosy mood at Vienna's museum for modern art
(MAK).
However - we do well understand that for many of
you it might be similar difficult to visit Vienna or Basel, as it might be too
far and too time consuming. Allready years ago Habring² started to tour with
it's actual collection through selected countries to show new developments as
well as actual production. In 2010 we've been happy to meet friends and
collectors at Chicago, New York City, San Francisco area and - special thanks to timezone.com and their local moderator Joel Tadeo - very first time Toronto.
Such tours are highly influenced by local collectors. Habring2 (Maria and
Richard Habring) are pleased to visit the West Coast this month and will make themselves
available Saturday, August 27th, 2011 at 10AM.Tim and Janna Jackson at
Passion Fine Jewelry in Solana Beach are the gracious hosts. Passion is located at 415 S.
Cedros Ave. #100 in Solana Beach. Of course, all interested watch enthusiasts
are welcomed!
What's new in 2011:
Time-Date vs. Time-Only: The new "Time"-line: The very
basic Habring² receives some new family members. The unique Habring² modular
system now fully integrates Habring²'s inhouse movement A09 which allows "small
complications" like date function, power reserve indication or moon
phases.
Foudroyante manual wind: Well
- last years Foudroyante was probably the fastest sold out piece in Habring²
-history ever and did enter the worldwide collectors scene deeply. Apart from
this very first basic version with automatic
winding it will be accompanied soon with it's manual wind brother. While the
Foudroyante was initially planned to be a kind of top model of the Jumping
Seconds range it turns more and more out that it has to stand alone and might be
the founder for a new model line. The manual wind version with the new
skeletonized jumping seconds bridge on top of the movement is the first
variation which should be soon accompanied by a power reserve indication and an
upcoming date function. The manual Foudroyante as well as the power reserve
indication will be available from summer on.
Chrono COS ZM: It follows the idea
of uncompromising reduction at the Chrono COS. The chrono without pushers now
looses the well known subcounters. While the minute counter moves to the center
of the dial and appears newly as 60-mins. counter, the subseconds disappearing
completly. What remains is a very classy and gentle watch which looks like a
traditional time-only watch but offers the full functionality of a chronograph.
The COS ZM (which is german for "central minutecounter") will be
available starting summer.
the 36mm: Since the very first
beginning of Habring² in 2004 the standard case diameter has been set with 42mm.
While this size did guarantee a wide range of variations with movements,
functions, indications etc. we learned that a group of customers prefers a
smaller case size. The 36mm is not a new model - it is part of the modular
system of every Habring²-model and comes as an option for those who judge the
42mm as too big for their wrist. Please notice that due to the smaller case size
it comes with some limitations regarding movements and functions. However - the
36mm case option is allready available for the Time-Only line as well as for the
manual wind jumping second. The last comes with a modernized movement in 30mm
diameter and skeletonized jumping seconds bridge to show more of the dead beat
second function.
The new catalogue: The modular
system and quiet a number of dial options for every model made it meanwhile
difficult to imagine all possible variations of Habring²-watches. In order to
show more faces of watches we are in preparation of a new catalogue which should
be available soon as download on our website and a few weeks later as a printed
hardcopy.
a study for 2012: Looking back 20
years - watching what was popular at that time led us to one of the classical
watchmaking complications. Being an absolutly single piece in the moment it
points out a possible direction of development at Habring².
with our very best regards
Maria & Richard Habring
