A happy day yesterday, with the arrival of a new piece from Austria via San Diego...
As usual, the first step is to assemble the ceremonial watch opening rug and William Henry box opener:

It's finally time! At the critical juncture, all vestiges of photographic technique abandoned me, so all I have in forcus is this fairly harsh flash photo -- oh well...

Credit to Laikingland and the M.A.D. gallery for this one...
A few shots from the light tent coming in a separate post! In the meantime, many thanks to Richard for working over the weekend to finish this piece and to Tim for getting it to me in time for last night's GTG with PuristS friends.
Best,
Gary G
I am already enjoying the watch quite a bit -- a lovely piece for travel and weekend wear.

The "hand" is a favorite of mine! Always fun to see people's eyes when I turn it on...

Perhaps you will be getting another piece sometime soon! I am definitely keeping that shipping box, as it will come in handy for a future watch sale, I am sure.

Of course, every time I look at those orange accents I am reminded of you!

Thanks for your note, Quan! Missed you in SIN last weekend...

congrats on your lovely timepiece ! Sorry I was distracted by the carpet in the background. Is that a isfahan or Serafin ?
Cheers !
...that I lack carpet expertise! Definitely Persian in origin, but otherwise I do not know -- I'll go back through various folders and see whether I can find the documentation.

Gary

...watch this space! Dials can be changed, you know

I have seen this method used in smaller boxes for watch transport, but never on this large scale. Very clever indeed.

I am already enjoying this one quite a bit -- and agree with your assessment of the signature Habring pieces.
Hope to see you again sometime soon!

Thanks for your note -- will hope to catch up in person sometime soon.
