Superb post Mark!!

The db27 is a perfect match to your shirt and sweater! Looks the nicest among all pics. Too bad you didn't try the skybridge. That is the one that looks the most appealing to me. The db27 with the salmon dial looks like the nicest one but the one you posted is the safer bet i guess. But when you go De Bethune, its not to play it safe. Lovely post!
Thanks

Didn't do it on purpose but I agree!

It fitted very well indeed smile

I don't know why but this DB27 is very attractive.

As for the Skybridge, I tried these watches in November in Paris and couldn't attend the SiHH, so I didn't see it yet, but looking forward to wink

Thanks for your input Fricks.

Cheers,

Mark

Thanks for the wonderfully crisp pictures of the DBs. Any favorites?

Best,

Horo

Your question leads to torture

By: Mark in Paris : February 8th, 2013-09:17
as I really don't know which one to put in front line.

The normal DB28 (not blued) black or silver dial: for its design, uniqueness and silicon-disk balance wheel living like heart beats ?

A balanced and beautifully finished silver dial DB27 ?

The Starysky ?

Hmmm I guess today could be the DB28, but tomorrow ?

I'm curious to know what's your favorite Horo ?

Cheers,

Mark

Get another number Horo!!!

that made me fall in love with DB is really calling loud.....Would love to see the hue of the strap you are talking about, straps are sooo important,a detail I never paid attention to before but now its paramount for me(I am in the process of changing many straps in my collection..more to came).

First target though must be a DB 28 for sure.It symbolizes the epitome of DB,the essence of the brand.Which one though ?

here is my lis of Fav DB to buy IF budget allowed it

1)DB28(short lugs due to my wrist)
2)DB27 salmon
3)Mayan underworld(long gone alas!)
4)DB25 power reserve titanium dial...

Oh well....cant have everything.....

Mo

If we listen to our heart, all would be on our wrist already!

You're so right about straps. And I'm sure the new I'll get, for any of my watches, will be neither black, neither brown (or maybe a very light brown). I guess it would be a very dark blue or a kind of grey one. But there are many other solutions we don't think of.

Here is a Harry Tan's picture I found on Pp I think:

Doesn't it look stunning?

And this DB25 from someone who visited the manufacture (sorry for him I don't remember who it was :/):

Even if it wouldn't be my choice I find it very interesting too.

I could try the watches I shot from Ekaterina Sotnikova (Esksowatch Gallery, she has a website), a watch enthusiast woman that decided to make her own watch gallery in Paris. She gathers Indies only and has been knowing them for quite a while now.

She made this grey strap choice for the DB25 Titanium dial as we can expect from a woman who has taste: she completly transformed the watch.

By the way, you're talking about the Mayan underworld, she has the N°12 still available (I noticed the central engraving is different from others I saw, and I learned it is one different for each watch).

I see that the Salmon DB27 realy striked you Mo wink

We'll have time to discuss about these in Paris I hope !

Cheers,

Mark

Its time to start a strap revolution!!

 By: moc : February 10th, 2013-05:02
I am sooo bored with the black standard that all the brands are providing.(unless its a black watch or black dial)

At the moment I am changing 3 of my watches straps, and every time I see a watch now I think of what strap it could be more suited with.

Great pics of these watches,I think that wash blue on the DB25 is very beautiful......so is the orange/red on the digitale.

The problem is that you always need a good watchmaker to change it...I tried and nearly butchered the lugs...and If I could I would change it regularly.

Watch out for future posts on my strap changes...

My fav at the moment are Blue and different shades of grey....

As for the Mayan....well..as i said my first target is..well another one....I must visit that boutique soon....i will be there in March...I will let you know...

Straps

By: Mark in Paris : February 10th, 2013-06:49
Well I could change my 1815's straps once and it was Ok (I trained with a lot of models making when I was a kid :p).

But it depends on how tight is the strap too. I would also really like to change my straps more often, winter vs summer, or colorfull straps ...

I'm surprised I noticed too I'm beginning to have this reflex (especially when there are dots of colors on the dial): wow this watch could fit perfectly with a X strap.

Even if it's not what drives my choice as for a watch, it's something I develop much more.

I'm looking forward to read your strap post, it will also give me ideas for the future.

Cheers,

Mark

I guess it goes with the well known Italian style cutlure and standards...
