New for the fair this year Christophe Claret presented the Allegro with minute repeater, GMT, big date, small seconds, day/night indication. Note the model with a smoked sapphire dial subtily showing the mechanism inside.
This X-TREM-1 has a new slate blue case color.
We saw the Aventicum earlier this year with a shop visit too (click here). This watch commemorates the 2000th aniversery of the founding of Aventicum, the capitol city of Helvetica during the Roman Empire. Helvetica is now know as Switzerland and Aventicum is now known as Avenches whic this summer is hosting a whole series of events related to its long history. The miniature bust found in this watch is a tiny replica of a gold bust of of the empirer Arelius that was found in Avenche.
My favorite of the Claret collections is the Soprano (so I, of course, had to request that they show it to me again for some more pictures and to try it on).
Here we see the Maestoso with a pivoted detent escapement and constant force. Note also the cylindrical hairspring.
The first of Claret's feminine watch collection, the Margot plays the french version of "he loves me, he loves me not". Removing daisy petals to a delicate chiming as one presses the button.
Soon Claret will be revealing the next of their feminine watch line. I am looking forward to seeing it.

Christophe Claret watches are too busy and complicated for me.
I'm sure the objective mechanical genius is evident but the emotion has to be tapped too.
The Margot achieves this and I am worried that as a man, I like it too much!
