Purists XVth Anniversary Watch
Dear Members,
after a short discussion on the Independent Forum, I was asked from a dear Member, to make a short pool:
What would be your favourite Purists XVth Anniversary watch, or at least: would you mind if we get a special Purists watch?
Any idea is important: Manufacture, size, movement, dial, strap, price etc.
I wish a good play with my watchmaker's Friend's, Michael Uphoff's watch:

The first ideas discussed were...
Limited to 178 pieces, budget around €5.000 per pop or thereabouts, so enough members can participate.
Some brands mentioned were Dornblüth, Habring and Ochs & Junior. Many other possibilities, I am sure.

Dornblüth is a greath idea,
but unfortunately not real. In order to make 178 pieces Dirk will require 3-4 years.
I suppose you are right...
The same would go for Habring - probably two full years of production...
Thinking aloud, how about several manufacturers making 15 pieces each? This would provide members with more choice (also allow for different price levels) and allow smaller manufacturers to still be considered?

That depends...
The question is partly how certain the manufacturer is to sell the complete stock produced and partly in customization. Some may have little difficulty with customizing, as it comes at no extra cost.
Maybe several manufacturers propositioned, each getting firm orders for X pieces, allowing them a secure business case?

Do you think we will really get 178 takers? Difficult for these small manufactures to produce that number.
MB would be a great option, but producing a Minerva for that price would probably be impossible... Tudor, would be great too... but not sure they would buy it as they follow the current Rolex rules of no limited editions. JLC... could be a possibility as they like us... Reverso?

So far there has not been a single idea, where I would pass completely, so really excited to find out where this develops towards. And unlike with the previous community watches before my time here, I can get one from the start

They only have to make a special dial. Or just replace the rehaut Rolex with a rehaut PuristSPro

Or what about a Christiaan van Der Klaauw Ceres?
They could be of service as they do custom watches...
Van der Klaauw produced beautiful watches, but
they don't have manufactural movements, if I am right.

But hey; Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Panerai, Tudor, Sarpaneva, Cartier, etc, etc, etc have done and/or are doing the same.

Nah - two of the very popular 'community' watches have third party movements
Namely the LLD and the ABR
Tudor would be an interesting option. We'd go way below 5 K euros, without...
Compromise with quality.

Rolex? Not sure they will accept to play the game.

I don't know. The thing is that we should be quite a lot to want the same thing, which is the main issue, I fear.
