... and whenever I thought about an un-circular watch, it popped up in my mind. They even had a blue-face Monaco at the dealer, aside the Monza. However, in direct comparison, I voted for the TV-screen case of the latter.
I always had some kind of soft spot for the ETA 2894 chronograph movement. Despite the critics complaining about its modularity, or the non-repairability of the chronograph module, I was impressed by the cleverness of the module's layout, that ETA succeeded in what apparently no other manufacturer, including AP achieved: in transferring the date indication of the base movement to the top of the module. I recall that, many years ago, our Ei8htohms posted a concise report on the inner structure of this chronograph module that did impress me. Unfortunately, most of those reports hosted on
tp178.com appear to have been lost for posterity.
