What watch is at the very top of your "want" list right now, and why?
For me there are several on my mind but I think I have to say it's the Lange Timezone in platinum. There are a few (vintage pieces) I've passed on in the meantime to try to keep "powder dry" for a possible Time Zone purchase.
That said, I have a factory trip to another brand coming up and there was s a piece there that interests me quite a lot, maybe as much as the Timezone, but we'll see.
The Timezone holds particular appeal because I love travel watches/complications, and platinum pieces too, so this has been on my radar for some time. Also, I've really come to appreciate Lange and this would be my first.

The Vagabondage III was on the top of my list but I bought both the II and III which will be dilevered tomorrow. F.P. Journe is a genius and the Vagabondage III is the most advance manual digital watch every produced...JIm

I've been looking and thinking and looking and thinking for about two years in which time a few have come up. Unfortunately I wasn't ready to buy.
Why? Iconic, timeless in a "what the fu$%" kinda way. My collection is at the point also where something different is needed and this fits that bill (and budget).
Currently I’m on an “Everest climbing” mood ...

My own ambitions center around a JLC minute repeater. I'm still trying to determine which one.
The only certainty is that the original 2005/6 Master Minute Repeater 44 does not quite fit my wrist, but the 2011 Master Grande Tradition TiVan DOES due to its reprofiled case and lugs.
Also, I have a fondness for two rose gold watches, and that metal in itself is an exception for me: the 1994 Reverso Repetition Minutes, a landmark watch that is a great Reverso but a so-so repeater, and the 2015 39mm Master Grande Tradition Minute Repeater auto. There are many (indie)watches that i have on my list but for now this watch is my ,i hope one day, watch . The craftmanship and passion (i know a lot of indie brands have that) is for me one of the best so far .

I have many grails & want lists....
....but if the chance came tomorrow it would be these two. As a life long Speedy lover (have had one since c1974), these 2 are the very rare all platinum Speedy and 2008 gold Speedy. Best, John.
Tricky question.
My 'Want' list is topped by the Patek 5078P black dial. But that is a while away for now.
On the 'Realistic Want' list, the top spot changes almost hourly. It is currently topped by the Omega Trilogy.
I would be very very happy with the Romain Gauthier Logical One but it should stay a dream. I should play to the lottery 😊

Chronostop + alarm

Currently an Omega chronostop - and not entirely sure why. It's tiny & timing function not that useful, so it's probably it's quirkyness that's appealing.
Then there's an alarm - but there's always an alarm!

Due to the mean character of our own Mr White, aka zabreg1 ...
... my absolute dream watch is the Lange Datograph, the first version without power reserve. I loved it all the time, but only when he gave his to me to put on my wrist, I was completely sold. All the time before I always dreamt of a repeater watch, but I had to accept that the faint chimes are impossible for me to hear. So I acquired a quarter repeater pocket watch, which has a really full and loud sound, at a bargain price. This made space free in my dreams for the Datograph - thank you, Mr White!
