Horological Meandering

I simply cant [nt]

 By: Gelato Monster : October 27th, 2018-01:12
Maybe 10

Well then tell me. :)

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-02:56
I'm curious.

The thing is that I am top lucky to already have them. Now, if you ask me to sell a big part of my collection to get 5 other watches, that is another story. But I fear that for at least one

 By: amanico : October 27th, 2018-01:17
Maybe two, I will have to go above 125, 000 Euros.

Or possibly three or four :)) [nt]

But so worth every penny!

Yes, I know, it doesn't qualify. ;) [nt]

It's not about having the perfect collection...

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-02:49
...it's more about how your collection would look like if you love watches but simply can't build your perfect collection. smile

Aah, in this case, I see... An alarm, a GMT and or WT, a fine Chrono, a Grande complication, and a tool watch. [nt]

No, no, no...

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-03:42
Please with similar budget and name the models, please.

Rolex 6542, Patek 5110P, JLC Duometre à Chronographe, Tudor 7924, And... Let me think about the tool watch... since the Grande Complication will be out of budget. [nt]

I’m pretty sure your choices are still not within my given budget... [nt]

We know that of all people, this tortuous exercise is not for you, my friend...

 By: vitalsigns : October 27th, 2018-06:17
Don’t even try 😄

Given there was no budget...

Curious as to what GC you would choose for your dream collection.

My picks

 By: Thomahof : October 27th, 2018-01:38
5960A, 5170P, Daytona.

It would take me a lifetime to reply to this properly - it would be easier putting me in a round room and asking me to find the corner. :) [nt]

GO split second, Patek 5140 in J, Rolex GMT SARU in YG, VC Traditionelle Small Second in P and a Lange DS

By: COUNT DE MONET : October 27th, 2018-02:11
I know the SARU is an acquired taste but I like it!

Finally someone!

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-02:44
Great choices! SARU is indeed for an acquired taste. biggrin

I have 5 now.

 By: shafran : October 27th, 2018-02:33
I think my current collection fits the bill.
AP 15400
Panerai 688
Rolex Daytona 116518
A Lange Sohne Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase 18k rose
F.P. Journe Centigraph 18k rose

I have sport, dress, work, metal bracelet on the ap, rubber strap on the daytona and panerai, Alligator on Lange and Journe.
I would love to add a Patek, but which to take away?

Wow, never thought to find someone who actually has a high level collection with that much variety.

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-02:47
Infinite likes from me!

Thank you!

 By: shafran : October 27th, 2018-02:59
took a while

That's a very nice collection, you have a lot of variety there even with just 5 watches.

Discipline is the hardest element of collecting.

For sure

 By: shafran : October 28th, 2018-03:25
I would love to add a patek 5167, but alas, no funds and not easy to get.

i've put exactly this limit for my collection...

 By: mahesh : October 27th, 2018-02:41
i'm slowly working towards that, i'll retain one from what i've today & letting go with few and add (which is the difficulty)...

my final 5 would be,

1) JLC Reverso Q3908420

2) Laurent Ferrier Galet Square Blue dial

3) Patek 5711 blue dial (only if i get it at retail price & i'm crawling in the queue)

4) Rolex Daytona 116500LN Black dial

5) another JLC or a PP 5196p

let me see where life takes me...

Best,
mahesh.,

This looks great. Definitely an insane Quintuple!

 By: datograph : October 27th, 2018-02:59
Wish you all the best to get you there!

Thanks !

 By: mahesh : October 27th, 2018-04:44
