Horological Meandering

...or rare, or expensive, or even technically interesting, but you love it anyway? This is a tiny watch by modern standards, you can pick one up for $60 at any Swatch store, but for some reason I just can’t get enough of it, and I can’t even really explain why. Today I was trying to decide between my 1675 and this, and I went with this. I’m just drawn to it. I hesitate to call it a ‘guilty pleasure’ as that implies that it’s something you might otherwise be ashamed of, but more of an ‘unjustified pleasure’. Anyone else have a watch that falls into this category?

I paid 800 euros for that watch, and it gives me a lot of pleasure. 

I think the mark of a true ‘watch guy’ is one who can get just as enthused about a G-Shock as a Patek or Lange. I find that price snobbery is something you more often find in the new enthusiast who is yet to grasp the meaning of this passion, than the seasoned collector.

$400 List Price; $200 at Costco; $100 from a guy who hated it. That made it the right price for me. 

it was your wrist, but there was a bunch of wristshots from baseworld (including the famous one with Mr. Dufour and his Rolex), and this exact watch was on one person's wrist.  I downloaded that photo wanting to buy this watch.  What a coincidence!! I may have to run by a Swatch shop tonight. 

No, that guy was dressed much more stylishly than me! I’d heartily recommend it. I saw it online and loved it, but in person I thought it was too small, but it spoke to me just purely as an object, so I bought it anyway, and then it just grew on me.
