this should be a wonderful and informative forum. I have met in person one member in Tokyo and it was thoroughly fun!!! I agree that it was getting tedious with some posts....since I am a new member this past year I was very poliyrly informed when I posted something incorrect....and it helped enormously. Thanks for all your work and efforts for us and regards to the rest of this community.

I think I missed all this “fun”, or I’d already filtered it out.
It’s not ideal when people need to be banned but that’s a decision to be made by management and moderators in the best interests of the community as a whole.
Sometimes there is no debate about these offenses and resulting repercussions and sometimes it’s a little more grey. I’d hope in the latter cases reason is ultimately found and those people can return and adhere to the rules and spirit of the forum.
Btw, the rules regarding GTGs must have escaped me previously; this is the first time I’m registering the specific requirements.
There are at least two kinds of get-togethers.
Meeting up for lunch and posting pictures does not require pre-approval.

We had to ensure a safe venue, no advance warning of the exact location and time of meeting, allowable behaviour, etc.
Robbery, violence, damage to another member's property, accidents due to drink and drive, etc. are definitely NOT what we want happening at a GTG.
Thus the "official" meetings are "chaperoned" by a moderator. And probably (I forget) he buys all the drinks for everyone for the entire evening, right? Right Nico, Bill?

Gratitude for managing this situation (inappropriate posts, or posts not for the good of all) with integrity and conviction. I do not post a lot, but I visit the site multiple times daily and I am enriched in my knowledge of, and appreciation for, watches, food, travel, and photography. Thanks.
Very well said my friend. Thank you for reiterating and emphasizing what this site is all about (not to mention inviting me to be a part of it). I have opinions that sometimes should be kept
to myself (or relayed elsewhere). Thank you for this reminder of why this is SUCH a specail site! What I realize is that I love watches and photography, music, travel, culture... ok maybe beer more than wine ... ;-) ...
and this is the best place I've ever run across to share those passions and interests! Appologies for any moments of crssing lines because this site rocks!
