It's Bexei Time
Happy New Year to everyone, I hope that 2023 brings you contentment, good health, and many exciting new watches.
Early last year I finally realised that Aaron needed a round watch to get a wider appreciation of his amazing timepieces and their incredible finishing.
There followed long conversations which culminated in my ordering a round watch with a completely new, Aaron designed, movement.
Whilst he was designing it (more of this in another, later posting), the first step were the renderings. And by renderings,,by that I mean lots of them.
Now the mechanism design is nearly finished I need to create a short list before making the final, agonising, decision.
As the months have passed what seemed like a simple choice has changed into a seemingly difficult series of decisions.
Please give me your opinions about which design(s) you like,, and, if possible, why.

Bexei has beautiful movement so I think skeleton is a good choice, maybe you can try the sapphire dial to show more movement.

I would go for one of the more quirky designs
Design 4 is for me a typical Bexei piece due to the colors used. Number 5 and 8 are also in line with his trademark design.
Don’t get me wrong, typically, I would go for a more classic design, but in the market today, there are so many almost similar designs, also from young independents.
As a last point, seen that the case has already a specific style, I would continue it on the dial.

Yes, it's a tough one.
My existing one has the cut-out numeral design. To repeat or not, that's the question.

1,2 or 3 but without the numbers. Simplicity is better in my view for what is a very attractive design

I find those to be the most coherent designs. Obviously very different styles, classic or more distinctive.
It's 39.5 X 9.7
The 3D printed model I have is far slimmer than it appears on the renderings.

My problem is I have to choose one!
I know that he has sold out the first batch (Bexei quantities!), the earliest delivery would now be somewhere in late 2024. I suspect that in the current market Aaron's pricing represents VFM.

I'm seeing a distinct pattern here!
Aaron will be sending me renderings of the movement in the next weeks. I will be sure to make a posting when I receive them.

These look the nicest to me. I think striking designs are exciting for a minute, but pall over time and the watch comes out rarely to be worn. More classic still have a Bexei look, will attract more people and will end up more likely to be a daily worn watch.
I agree with your sentiment
I don't see this as being a daily watch (I use my titanium Alpine Eagle Cadence 8HF most frequently). Every time I wear my existing Bexei I get a thrilled frisson from it.

I am in a similar position
Debating between a design that is more avant-garde and one that is more traditional and possibly timeless.
Ultimately, I may decide to make one, with the expectation that Aaron might make me another dial in the future.
This is the timeless design that I’ve toyed with, inspired by a 1930s Art Deco pocketwatch:
