Chronograph Ideas
Here's what I want, any ideas?
- No solid caseback
- Bonus points for movement visibility
- Budget of ~$30k - used
- Preferably steel. I dont like yellow or rose gold.
- ~37mm - 41mm in size
I am thinking of the Zenith Defy chronograph, but it's kind of big. I could probably wear it...but prefer something less chunky.

Is the criteria really that weird haha. I just feel like the whole point of a mechanical watch is being able to see the guts and solid casebacks ruin it

Well under budget, but movement not as visible.
PF Tonda GT Chrono- I think they are 42 but adds an annual calendar and keeps you under budget
Seeing a nicely finished movement to me is a testament to a quality watch. Go for it!
I’d say the most value you can get from a omega speedmaster. The Lemania movement is one of the best and beautiful.
Zenith definitely also has a iconic movement can’t go wrong with that either.
Ap offshore is also a possibility if you want something bigger
Lastly a curveball. JLC Polaris perpetual calendar. I know it’s not a chrono but the dial is also complicated looking with a higher complication and beautiful finish.
