The differences between the original and re-edition are subtle. Buying re-edition is like being able to hop in a time machine and buy the original in brand new condition, ready for everyday wear. Of course I had to notice that number of sub-ticks does not match the frequency of the B02 movement. It's a tough call, because changing from four ticks to three would mean the re-edition dial would not look exactly like the original.
Breitling could have released the platinum edition with three ticks instead of four, as there was no platinum blue dial models in 1959.
Even with the minor issue, the 806 is a historically great watch and I appreciate that no concessions were made with the re-edition to cater to modern tastes.
