VADM J.A.G. Troup MI-6 British Naval Intelligence
J.A.G. Troup is one of the founders of Bletchley Park and responsible for the formation of the O.I.C all predicessors of IAN Fleming and James Bond. Alan Turing broke Enigma at Bletchley Park. This presentation was added to the Longines Archive records.

Yes this watch is particularly historic. It saw the Munich Crisis first hand and was part of the diplomacy. Chamberlain did everything wrong that Troup feared would happen. Hitler walked of Europe.

It saw Bletchley Park created.
It saw Troup develop the O.I.C.
which coordinated the use of Ultra from Enigma and Purple.
It saw the management of the most strategically important Clyde shipyards that built most of the British warships.
It's a very interesting watch from many aspects. Troup as he transitioned to Godfrey and lead the selection process for Bletchley Park staff, he played a role in how espionage would change the world. Godfrey of course was even more impressive and so was Ian Fleming and 30 Assault Unit that he lead.

As most of you known James Dowling is the highly regarded author of one of the first Rolex reference books. He has written for many magazines and he is well known in the watch collecting world.

About JAG Troup's Medals
These are his campaign medals for his battles during WW1
This is not his original medal but a similar medal to the one he would have earned. This one is much earlier 18Kt Gold version and is highly valuable.
Some of these solid gold versions have sold in the $10,000 range when accompanied by the plaque from West Minister Abby.
