Yes this watch is particularly historic. It saw the Munich Crisis first hand and was part of the diplomacy. Chamberlain did everything wrong that Troup feared would happen. Hitler walked of Europe.

It saw Bletchley Park created.
It saw Troup develop the O.I.C.
which coordinated the use of Ultra from Enigma and Purple.

It saw the management of the most strategically important Clyde shipyards that built most of the British warships.
It's a very interesting watch from many aspects. Troup as he transitioned to Godfrey and lead the selection process for Bletchley Park staff, he played a role in how espionage would change the world. Godfrey of course was even more impressive and so was Ian Fleming and 30 Assault Unit that he lead.
