New acquisition Nivada Grenchen
So...I've wanted this watch ever since I first saw it...but vintage examples were out of my $ range.
PLUS...I really wanted a Depthmaster that I could be confident of it's waterproof-ness. (Depthmaster...get it...?)
THEN Nivada came out with the reissue. My goal was set!
After thinking about this watch for what...3 years? I finally took the plunge (so to speak) it arrived yesterday much to my delight!

Sometimes referred to as a Baby Panerai or a Mini Panerai but most fondly as Pac-Man.
The BoR is gonna need some work but I think it looks equally attractive on this leather strap that I had laying around.

I have this exact watch and it’s a 10/10 for me and really made me question the value of my Rolexes omegas and even tudors. Are applied incidices and lacquered dials worth 5x to 10x the price ? I never particularly liked applied markers and think the 1016 looks cooler than the 124270. Ultimately when I wear the Nivada depthmaster I feel like an ISTP badass whereas a rolex Daytona screams I am an ISTJ normie
Oddly, while Nivada makes me feel like I got ripped off by some brands marketing and product placement, I still feel like H moser, which is objectively more expensive than rolex, offers subjectively better value. wearing moser is INTP

Saw the Super Antarctic in the metal a few weeks ago for the first time and mightily impressed. Seiko and NOMOS used to be the recs made to folks asking my thoughts on relatively inexpensive watches worth acquiring.
Nivada is on that list now, too.
