She's been through a lot... years of SCCA racing load-in and load-outs plus racing, drumming, ocean swims.... basically let's admit it is ABUSE. No other way to say it, **considering she's never been serviced in 19 years** and still keeps great time (+/- 7 seconds/day).
i do like that the older, original (bottom of pic), is a bit thinner than the newer one. Plus i like the hex bolts of the older one for the strap versus springbars for the newer one. Go vintage imho.
A few pics, yes i had a lot of parts and bits, tools, weight bridge, etc,. Did all gear changing of the LD200 myself, always bolt checks, safety wire, brake changes... was quite the experience!
Guess, if i may humbly say, with the help of my engineer Glenn Philips of GTP Motorsports, all thanks to the SCCA flag staff, corner workers, etc... did earn the Driver's Championship one year. In fact, am right now looking at the trophy.
BTW, if you gentlemen feel that timepieces are a bit costly, try a few years racing at the pointed end of the grid. It's like buring $300 evey minute, actually probably a lot more... tho who wants to admit that!?! The incredible feeling of Formula car with full aero package racing, the energy and forces of grip potantial, the spirit of competiion that relies on tiny fractions of a second descisions....
.....priceless!!!!!!!!!!!
