Posting for a friend:
Which watches would you offer to check, that meets the following Criteria:
- Rare, not as popular as Rolex.
-Can be bought at around $10K (consider even watches with higer MSRP that can be obtained for 10K).
-Stainless (or Ti), not too flashy, that will look good even after many scratches (but not a Rolex !
)
-Unique with "high value" to be proud of owning (JLC at 10K is high vlaue, Panerai for that matter is more of a fashion watch). not a 7750 or ETA etc.
- Relaible for daily use, for sailing and swimming.
- Intention to keep the watch for years so some boutique watches that may close doors may not fit
- Bracelet is a big plus
IMO the SeaDweller is perfect but it is too common
I offered him the new JLC diver but it does not have a bracelet.
I thought of the AP 15300 seems too "scratch magnet" and is above 10K.
anything anyone?
Now, same question for a budget of $25K.
tnx

also leaves enough money to buy something dressy on top.
why not ETA/Valjoux? as vast majority of watches out there that are affordable have some derivative of eta base calibre it doesnt leave much of a choice.
1. Breguet Marine Big Date after discount
2. AP Royal Oak 15300 after discount
