You can't compare Patek (around 45,000 watches a year) with Kari. Not the same method, not the same production... Even within Patek Philippe, you have several levels of finishing.

Moreover, what is a finishing ? A technical finishing ? A decorative finishing ?

Agree with you , need to compare specific piece , there would be some good finishing PP .

For me, overall, I apprecited the finishing of Independent as : Kari , Dufour, PSM ...they care to details . IMHO

Being conscious enough to separate the independent from the companies, my vote goes to Lange. I haven’t seen a more beautiful finish from a company, than the one of a Lange’s movement. The same with the cases, hands and indexes.

especially on their more complicated pieces, such as the Datograph.

While this may seem like an objective question, the fact of the matter is that much is dependent on personal taste.

finishing one means that a certain level of beauty EQUALLY applied to all pieces produced, with no blemish or anything that detracts from uniformity in that aspect, Lange would seem to be tops. However, if one does not mind the HUMAN factor coming into play serving as minute differences between each piece, toss up between Kari V, Romain G and P Dufour.

Industrial  -  Lange (to me, without a doubt)

AHCI  -  Dufour, Kari and Gauthier (three of them have to fight to get the top position)

... its the only brand that made me a waow effect jst from the quality of the finishing. Almost too perfect. In the end, its to what u are the most receptive. I think Lange is a notch above the rest.
