Horological Meandering

Dear forumners!

 

Please join me in congratulating our

dear JLC moderator Nicolas “amanico” Fondaneche

on his 20 000 post which, knowing him, will come in  few hours.

 

All started 3 years ago on UN forum

with his first post and little bit later

with his first posted picture of a watch

a Freak (an appropriate piece of horological art and genius for him

to start his “Supernova” journey on PuristS)

 

2 years later and his 10 000th post comes along

 

and although Art was betting back then on 2010 for 20 000th post

he was close, but when Nicolas is in question, also far

from wining …. Nicolas 20 000^th post is here only one year later

 

Question that first comes to mind is: HOW?

Answer: PASSION!

 

All who know and met Nicolas know of his inexhaustible

passion and love for watches

 

and what is most important in my eyes is:

he is unselfish in sharing and that is what makes one great person

 

If you think of 20 000 posts in 3 years you must also think about at least that

many PM's and numerous reviews and previews he posted

 

So Nicolas I expect another 10 000 in 6 months

That's true and a very good initiative to award Nicolas for his 20.000 posts. Thanks Nicolas for your time, in sharing your knowledge, experience and passion with us !!! You, and this forum, already influenced me becoming "richer" with watches (but poor with money ) Thanks to  some others as well.

Nicolas, thanks for being such a great contributor.  When pressed for time and quickly checking in, I always make it a point to read your posts.  I have learned a lot that way.  Your dedication to our community is unmatched!

Thanks for starting this appreciation thread for Nicolas.  Like you, I think Nicolas is one of the cornerstones of PPro, along with all the other moderators and folks who work behind the scenes to make this a great, informative place to hang out.  I love that Nicolas always tries to respond to people's posts and he has a genuine passion for not only watches, but for his fellow PuristS.  Damian, you always evidence that behavior as well, so thank you for that.  I know we'll be celebrating your 20,000th post here one day! 

Here's to all the great posts that have been, and all those yet to come.

Congratulations, Nicolas, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next, brother.

Indeed, we happened upon the United Nicholas Association of France and they agreed to maintain a constant supply of Nicholas-es. 

As soon as one had expired or was worn out, there was an immediate replacement.

It was an amicable relationship until you 'out-ed' us.  Now, in a typical Gallic fashion, they are threatening to reduce our supply!

Sacre bleu! How can we survive?
