Then surf for "What Makes a Fine Watch Fine", also a film made for Hamilton in 1947.
After five minutes of acted-out sequences - presentation of a retirement watch - that I found insanely funny but also moving, we get into the real nitty-gritty, such as why huge amounts of bread dough were kneeded (and needed) every morning at Hamilton before work actually started. None meant for human consumption! Also why honey from the jar was used to keep the ruby jewels together. This is no joke! The measuring equipment used at the time is mind-boggling.
Then we go to the manufacturing of Elinvar Extra.
Respect, respect!
I wish I could give credit to the blog-man in charge, but you can easily find him - otherwise PM me.
The first film was a great mental refreshment for me. Sometimes I get lost in the gear train!
