Horological Meandering

Inspired by Andrew's ("219" on the forum) recent and excellent review of the Seiko diver nicknamed "Darth Tuna," and as suggested by Richard (forum handle: "RJW"), let's have a Seiko roll call!  I love the brand, and think it's just a matter of time before I add another to my collection.  Here's my Seiko 5 model SNKE03K1 to start things off. 



My cheapest watch in price, but worth a lot more in my heart.



I've shown you mine.  Now let's see yours!  So all you Seiko 5s, Grand Seikos, "Tuna Cans," "Sumos," "Samurais," and all other Seikos out there, c'mon down!

Only photo I could find of one of my dive Seikos. Terrible photo, but the watch wasn't the subject...that's my excuse.

Built February, 1975. Very dinged and bashed up.

If you look at the bezel serrations just under the '30', you'll see a little chunk of weld that the previous owner put on there to get better purchase on the bezel.

Don't pay too much attention to the salt/suncream build-up on the NATO...ick.

All rebuilt and re-sealed and good (so far) for at least 37m...

I love that this watch has been living its life outside the safety and comfort of a watchbox since the 70s.  All that wear and tear is just proof of a life of usefulness and adventure.  What a great piece, BDLJ!  Thanks for sharing!

but here is my valuable collection of ultra-collectible Seiko, most notably the fine and rare Seiko 5 military of which I own five. There is one more Grand Seiko incoming as well.

I wish I could get a GS at my local sushi joint!    SJX, you are the envy of all Seiko fans on the boards!  Look at your treasure trove of Seikos!  The orange mini-collection alone is jaw-dropping.  LOL!

I particularly like the GS GMT (I actually borrowed your pic for my wishlist- hope it's ok). Have never seen one in metal though.

I like the Mickey motif on your watch.  It's very cute and whimsical.  This looks to be a real vintage treasure.  Thanks for sharing!

This was very long ago..I knew nothing of watches or else i would have been more careful with it, As we all know hindsight is truly 20/20.
This was a gift from my mother to me..The sad story is that the company she worked for back then could buy seiko,omega and a few other brands at a 30 to 50% discount and I did not take advantage of this very nice offer...sad, Best wishes to you..

I like your Burger with its James Bond NATO.  Very cool!  I don't have any of my watches on NATO straps at the moment, but I'm curious to check them out.  It looks comfortable.  You've definitely made a case for it in the looks department!

How about stainless steel on a strap with enamel dial, sword hands, and a blued second hand?  It'd be a nice companion for your dad's Seiko, huh?  I love that your dad passed down this watch to you.  It makes it extra special.

...but they are all handsome pieces.  I'm surprised you don't have a "bull head" chrono in the collection yet.  I think it would make a natural pairing with the current watches.
