I mean, these are probably my 3 favorite brands
Rolex would be pretty cool but I think it won't be possible. AFAIK Rolex does not make any special editions and I'm not interested in aftermaket inscriptions or modifications.
Panerai, Max 3 hands, NO date and not other complications. Something new, something original. I don't care that much about being historycally correct or not. For me I might be something like a titanium brushed 1950 case, inhouse movement, brown California dial !!!!!
If somebody is good with fotoshop, please make this. I think I would love it.
If Patek, Please keep it simple because it would not fit my bill otherwise LOL. A simple 5711 would be great. That would fianlly be the trigger to start me saving for a 5711. No modifications in this case. Just a little inscription on the dial (the purists instead of for example Tiffany's)
Perhaps with red PPRO on the dial?
It would be great if the piece could be made available (in terms of $) to all purists. We should not exclude those due to hugh prices.
My humble 2 cents.
cheers

???If we want it, we can make a Longines LD without date, my dear Ze Bim!
Un fuerte abrazo, mi querido amigo.

yet they are united by a common orientation towards the horologically exquisite, one way to do an anniversary watch that I would like would be to
1) find a batch of the same unfinished horologically significant or at least attractive movement
2) have a nice and simple case and dial (which would have a link to the Purists, e.g. in the 178 numerals) designed by a talented "upcoming" independent that can be made in precious metals as well as in steel or titanium
3) have the movement finished in tiers from not at all to Voutilainen-like quality, maybe even have a complication added on top similar some of the things the Habrings do.
Then you could be part of the party if you had the steel case with the "raw" vintage movement or you could have it in platinum finished to the n-th degree but would be still part of the brotherhood.

most of the suggestions i've read so far have verged on elitist and unaffordable by some of the active members. the idea is to bring everyone together, not seperate us by way of income and financial freedom. i like the Hamilton movement idea and lots of companies will put a simple handwind watch together for us. RGM or Tourby already do this type of watch with nice clean dials and vintage movements, Tourby being the most affordable, i'm sure if approached they would be more than happy to put some ideas to the management.
as a disclaimer i will add that i know nothing about Tourby other than what i've read on their website.
feeling ever so slightly annoyed

so it would either have to be a very small run of say 50 pieces for the lucky wealthy but also something much cheaper and fun in the Swatch price range that almost everybody would get just to say it was from the Purists as a sign of friendship around the world.
As much as I would love a Panerai or even better an AP if they are over 10K then it's a no go.
Andy.
the idea is to bring us all together as one group of friends so having different watches, one for the rich and one for the poor is the exact opposite of the spirit of the forum. having a model that looks the same but with different levels of finish as suggested by Andreas is the best idea i've read so far as outwardly we are together as one, but inwardly people can choose to pay more for better finish etc.
all said with best of friendship

With our PuristS 10th edition watches, the PPro exec team does not get sole control on which watches get made - it is all up to the brands to approve. So we are limited in what watches we really want to have.
What you've written is why the 1st PuristSPro Edition was the PuristSPro All-Black Rescue watch. It was an affordable watch that everyone in the community could afford.
And realistically, we cannot have all PuristS editions in the $1k price range because part of our community wants higher-end community watches. If we keep making $1k PuristS edition watches, the community that wants a $10k, $50k, $100k, or $500k watch will be disappointed.
It is all about catering to the entire community. Sometimes there will be a $1k watch, Sometimes there will be a $10k watch, Next may be a $50k, $100k, $500k, and so on. This is the only fair way to make the entire PuristS community happy.
We cannot limit all PuristS editions to be a the low price point. It is unreasonable and not fair to the entire community.
Hope you understand our logic, and I hope you don't feel like the PPro exec team is being elitist if one of the PuristS 10th Editions is a watch that costs $100k.
Best,
Anthony
what I meant is that it would be good to have a range of pieces which could cover all price bases for all Purists. I would love to have a piece to remember the friendship from this site by, but it would have to be affordable to me. I didn't mean one for the rich and one for the poor but I think Anthony has covered this very well in his retort.
Yours,
Andy.
i'd like the dial to have the hour inner track/minute outer track like the Laco/lange observors watch and a handwind movement. obviously not the 55mm size, but 40-44mm. it would be appropriate as we are all 'observors' of this wonderful forum in one way or another.
above all else it must be affordable like the ABR PPro was or it would mean that fanatical purists like me couldnt buy one.

here's hoping
Graham
