for me ..its the MBF No 3.
it was prejudice against the brand and the machines before No3, pure ignorance and it was so "in your face".
i grew to understand the brand and make, and respect the people behind it, the story and concept. lookwise, it took me more then half a year to get used to and comfortable with. i must say, its more then AD that effected the change in me, though a certain good doctor cum ex Purist moderator played a part in it.

look forward to hearing your story.
Best,
Horo
Hi Tyler,
This is a good question and I look forward to seeing the watch behind it.
For me it was more an attitude readjustment than an acclimatisation to the watch itself.
I told the story in my Seussian bed-time story post. Click here to link .

. before i joined this forum i had no time whatsoever for Rolex and always associated them with flashy geezers, but i've learnt a huge amount about the quality and the history and no realise that the minority of owners are flashy gits and the majority are people who either want a totally reliable watch or want a quality vintage piece. i have one now and i'm eventually going to obtain a 1964 submariner before i die.

For me it´s the same story, Graham.
Rolex definitely was a "no go" before I learned more about its history and quality in this forum and from watchmakers.
I have to admit that the Submariner always had a slightly better reputation for being "THE Bond watch"

Here you go, Tyler:

These 40 mm are just working for my wrist as the lugs are nicely shaped and fit snugly.
Kind regards,

And now, try to take off my Explorer I from my wrist, and you are a dead man.

It has always been one of my fav watch designs, simple and clean, so for my 36 Bday I thought I was mature enough to forget those "stupid" ideas and buy what I like.
Cheers.

There is no love at first sight from me on Panerai but now, Panerai is my quite regular casual watch.

After reading some comments here and there and the moment I put it (basic model) on my wrist at AD, I just bought it. Most importantly, I wear it.
Of course, the price is affordable. If you don't have one, try one base model. If you really don't like it, you can give it to me.

Ling

I really didnt like the size..swore I would never wear one..
now I addicted...and wait for my first 47mm..

That is the other way around!
I fell in love with the look of Panerai (Luminor Marina) and finally jumped on it back in 2003…
I still love the look of Panerai…
But I can’t stand the feeling on the wrist!
Strange – I do hope I will change my mind one day…

I love how the watch looks as well as the history of the same. Furthermore, I find the movement very impresive and the bracelet changing system is great.
But when I bouht the watch - or in fact the RG and SS on the same day, I was dissapointed. The watch is too big, too thick and too heavy. And it is not that because of the size of the movement but probably because if the (in my opinion silly) fashion.
I had an opportunity to see the Anniversary of Nico and that was perfact.
