Horological Meandering

Hi all,

Today, four vintage nuts gathered in Paris for a nice lunch on a lovely terrace.  Just hearing the names of the participants sets the expectations pretty high: Bill, Vlad, Jean-Claude, and more modestly, myself!

Let me tell you one thing, it exceeded all expectations and was truly amazing so just get ready here we go...

We started up with a very serious appertizer, some Rillettes (for the food) and three watches, a stunning JLC Polaris 65 and two big crowns a Rolex 6538 and her sister the Tudor 7924.

Then, I had to try on this UFO, a stunning Breitling Super Ocean, the scene was set, it would be a vintage diver super day...

Here is an amazing couple, 2 James Bond big crowns 6538 and 5510 with James Bond Natos and a James Bond table cloth, never seen before LOL

Here is a little creative approach of the 2 BCs getting together

This would be already fantastic but keep quiet, it is not finished yet...some more James Bonds...

Well a few more joined the table...Tudor 7928 and Omega SM300

As some watches were going round the table, some Reds were put on the plate, Red Sub and DRSD...

Oh my god what a gathering, I almost forgot about this stunning 5513 Gilt

And to finish with, some colorful fireworks, two stunning 6542 GMTs came on board to change from the divers....

What a day!  Great friends, some great sense of humor and stunning watches, thanks, we had a great time!...nothing could be better to finish a week and start the WE.

The funny thing is that I had to leave the table for 30 minutes, just to get my client"s sentence at the Court...

It is the very first time I mix a watch gathering with my job.

Was great fun, and another stunning and strong moment.

I kind of feel that it puts the watches to their advantage for the pictures.

Not one French watch there. Shame on you.   

Lip, Leroy, Yema, Auricoste, Dodane, Kelton, Jaz, Lov, Codhor, Mortima, Vog, Utinam, Kiple, ...The list is long.  I'll even allow Pontiac (Belgium), thought this will probably cause a diplomatic incident.  There's some unmitigated rubbish (Vog, Kelton), some design icons (Lip Talon), some high class collectables (Leroy), some forerunners (Yema Superman), and and don'f forget that the observatory at Besancon certified a lot of French-made chronometers over the decades (keep looking for the viper's head).

Your mission, for the next meeting, is to bring a collectable vintage French watch (and to invite me ).

I didn't post all the pictures and didn't even take the time to shoot all watches as I wanted to enjoy the food and the discussions as well but I can share this UFO, you will recognize the table cloth in the background!...

That Polaris 65 is one of the most beautiful Polaris I've ever seen. It looks great on that strap, LOVE it.   Amazing Rolexes also.

what could be more perfect. in paris, sitting on the terrace in the sunshine with good friends and a great selection of trinkets to feast the eyes.

some of the watches were even older than the attendee's which is a surprise LOL
