Piece of "how do you say __it in italian?" Buyer beware. Unfortunately, I bought into the hype and design, which I admit, is brilliant. There was a problem with the timing, which happens. I sent it back twice for adjustment. The response to me is as follows.

The retrograde hours without the minute hand which is part of the concept of the Contagiri and its pure design, has an impact of +/-  10 mm on the minutes but:

  1. The reading time by increment of 15mm reduces the real impact of it
  2. And on a 12 hours cycle, the watch always catches up those deltas so stays on time within this bracket.

  • Please also note that we carefully tested your watch and it works perfectly as a Contagiri.

     

    I am sure that you will understand and be an adept of  the Giuliano Mazzuoli’s way of time concept.



     Interested in spending over $10,000 US dollars on something like this?

    My way of time concept consists of 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour and 24 hours in a day.  Is an adept of Mazzouoli's time concept always 10-15 minutes late or early?  Based on your experience, if they say the watch works perfectly as a Contagiri it seems they are saying the watch is perfectly inaccurate.  I am sorry you have had this problem and are disappointed with the watch.  I agree the design is great, but it is a watch and needs to tell time with some amount of accuracy.

    But then Italians lead a very laid back life and are (from my experience) always late anyway... so maybe the reason is their watches and I never fully understood!  It is a great design, but maybe it should be called art rather than a watch.

    it does seem a lot of money for what it is, but the retrograde function and the rotating bezel function are probably quite complicated so perhaps it is worth it.

    timekeeping is not a big issue with a watch like this as long at it flybacks at about the right time due to it being a 'concept'.

    lovely fun watch so i need some lotto numbers.

    In none of the promotional material was this mentioned. I would like to have been offered this 'concept'ual information before I put down the big bucks. I can give you a good deal when your number hits.
