Horological Meandering

No salacious gossip, just an early Christmas GTG for the WatchBand over good food, wine and great conversation. All of it lubricated by horology. One interstate visitor flew down for the event and other friends were missed. But we will be back again in the New Year.

LOL!  Looks like a fun time was had!  Lots of cool watches.  I like those Smiths.  I'm always tempted when I see them come up.  Until 2013 WatchBand-mates!

I thought the dinner was just a prelude to warm up to another closer to year end. How can we end without you know who ? ? , Pplater  of course being there. 

... since his last visit. I can see several pre-Christmas 'breakups' in our future.

I just checked the talking phone clock (my source of 'correct' time). The plastic fantastic was +1 second fast. It really does hold quite a good rate...

...yes it works properly, with a nice crisp 'jump' at the change of the hour.

The size may seem small to some people but it sits really well, comfortably, and in my admittedly very personal opinion, it's a great size; any bigger and it would not be as discreet.

....this isn't the 'final' GTG for the year, is it?!?  But what about (looks in his general direction) pplater?

I must admit that I did rather enjoy some of the 'shocked expressions' when I gatecrashed (for which I send thanks to Theobold), though the one person who did expect me should get a prize.

The pressure of picking watches to bring down was IMMENSE, I tell you, IMMENSE. Interstate pride and all that...

Purists - the Melbourne crew are great guys, truly, and have been most kind and welcoming to me.

As per last time, I didn't really get a chance to chat properly with everyone, but 'twas a really enjoyable evening full of interesting watches (I admit that I was rather worried about a certain person's 'fork photo') and good company.

Come on - at least one more before the end of the year is in order, it's only October!
