The end links are not solid (but then neither are the older Rolexes) but the rest of the links are solid. The clasp is decent and comfortable enough as well.
congrats. i really like Orient and especially Orient Star

my black cased OS with black bracelet has solid end pieces and is an accurate watch albeit only 37mm. my 'Somes' model with brown dial is excellent with a strap made by Somes the saddle makers. i keep looking at the 200 and 300m divers, but dont need anymore dive watches. what i would like is their 55th or 60th anniversary handwinds. either model with display back.
the only thing that puts me off the mako and some others is the push button date change that sticks out. too easy to push accidently i think.
enjoy it as it is excellent value, fully in-house and quite well built.

I have an Orient Ray and its one of my favorite watches at the moment, great design, details, day and date, very low key, try to get a bracelet for your piece, they are super comfortable.
