Horological Meandering

Singapore Purist, Stefan, was in town on business and we managed to get together over breakfast yesterday morning. We hadn't seen each other since IGOTT 2 in Las Vegas, and even then we didn't get time to chat as there was so much going on. So this long breakfast was a real pleasure. Of course we shared some great watches as well as superb coffee and food.

And the PuristS family were with us in spirit.

... named for the seven coffee seeds that Sufi Baba Budan took from Mocha in Yemen to India in 1670 and established coffee cultivation there. Seven Seeds is one of our best roasters and has an attached cafe. Always busy, and cool. Great coffee, good food, and coffee cupping going on behind us. Waiters interested in the watches. Fun.

Sorry you couldn't join us, Julian.

I will have to try Blue Bottle again. Lately we have been enjoying North (the St. Ali spinoff) and The Maling Room (ask for the Barista Latte) for both coffee and breakfast.

Given that the city cafe of Seven Seeds is Brother Baba Budan, I'll stick with the smuggled seeds theory.

There may only have been two of you, but by the size of the collection there were many.

The table opposite us were clearly intrigued, the waiter said he had never had watch collectors in the cafe, but we did discuss Tourbillon theory with him.

It was fun.
