In so many shots of people's collections the watches are 'dead' in the box or on the table. Even at GTGs. Such a sad thing to do to a watch. But you have given them life and are a good father.

I wound them once a week or so. My friends told me best is to wound them once every two weeks... What do you think?

... wind them all monthly. I also actuate pushers on chronographs and set dates, just to keep those mechanisms moving. I also turn them into a different resting position: upside down or on their side. You don't want gravity influencing the position of oils if they are in the same position for months on end. Of course the best place is on the wrist, but unfortunately we only have two of those.

Hi Sam,

It was suggested to me by one watchmaker, but I have never verified it from other sources or heard it mentioned. Jewels are supposed to keep oils in place, but I imagine gravity could eventually redistribute things. It would be great to get more opinions on 'risk' of this occurring. Perhaps a question for WatchTech.

Not to mention the good fortune to locate these beauties. I tried for two years to land the jlc enamel.  I really admire Laurent Ferrier's work. I want one of his micro rotor pieces. I can't decide between Romans or the markers. Love both. Your seconds dial is to die for
