Horological Meandering

I guess this is me going "vintage"..
well, not so sure 1960 qualifies as true vintage, but that's so far the oldest I've gone, and I'm loving everything about it!
Longines CH-30 flyback with spider lugs, how cool is it?!
I've taken my time to hunt an impecable piece, finally got it through an auction, and it has not left my wrist since I received it!
the dial tones, the plexi, the lugs, the presence, everything is right to my eyes.
Quite curious how has the modern brand been positionned, these guys use to make top-tier chronos back in the days!
Would love to find a nice 13ZN, sadly the prices have skyrocketed!

. . . I've said this before, and will say it again: no more chronos, with one solitary exception - a 30CH.  Gorgeous movements, but even more, an aesthetic that transcends the complication.  Longines chronographs succeed as watches per se; imho, that's a quality not shared by most other manufacturers.

i am very impressed with the design and cannot avoid thinking how would an owner feel about it back in the 60's; would they know that they were wearing such a timeless piece?

. . . the watches may be new to us, but they had a prior existence.  Where did it go?  What did it see?  Perhaps it was present at some historical event.

I was not so lucky with my previous purchase so I feel I have recovered some credits with this one!
Been comparing with some other modern chronos I own, some with prices 5-7 times higher...and this little guy has no reason to envy them at all!
It has been quite sometime since I go to bed knowing which watch I'll be wearing the next day, well, tomorrow my only problem will be to choose a tie!
