My F1 weekend with the “offbeat” “middle-child” RM..
I love it nonetheless. One of my most comfortable “low-profile” piece. IMHO this is timeless in every angle despite I do often read online ppl think this is not a real RM.. 🤪

I read plenty of comments online, people's assessment of the watch during their try-on session in the boutique/AD. I find the 016 to be very much under appreciated due to a few reasons... there are more but below are my personal recollection..
New comers into the brand are more focus to get the tonneau shape since that is the iconic shape for the brand which I agree. Looking back, I share the same thoughts despite my first RM being the RM16 and RM33 which I bought together.
Collectors wishes to collect something more complicated than just the time and date only watch since RM is all about complication and exotic material.
The RM016's MSRP is very expensive for a non complicated movement. Generally when buyers spent this much money why not top up a bit more for something more complicated mechanically and something with more DNA of the brand. As time rolls on, a decade after 16 was launched, the "extra flat" collection as expanded to add in the 33 and 67.
Can’t believe the design is more than a decade old! IMHO still look fresh and stunning in person.

I never get tired of seeing live shots of Rm. BTW the composition of this shot is exquisite. I really like the white strap it complements the numerals on the dial really well
I own multiple straps for this watch..
Black, yellow, blue, red, white and grey colour .. 😅
I used to own 18KWG with roman numeral which I think not as sporty.

The best RM design ever created, and one which should’ve been exploited much more…bar the extraneous cone on the crown.
You are right.. RM has extended their “extra flat” series into RM33 and RM67 and the 67 is doing exceptionally well! [nt]
