The RM004 was always a limited production number watch. And

was always in demand.  I would not be surprised if in the next few years the RM004 will either be phased out, or cut down to limited numbers.

Great photo and good to hear that your 'grail' watch is back where it should be - on your wrist smile

RM004 prospects as major collector's item

I've had the same thoughts.  It seems to me too that RM004 will either be discontinued soon or will be made in even fewer numbers than it has.

Several reason why I think it will end up being a major collector's item:

1. It has been made in very limited numbers of about 2 per month.  If it is discontinued soon, there will be around 150 or so at most in the world.

2. There aren't many split second movements out there in the first place, but of the ones that exist, almost all of them were implemented as modules stacked on top of an existing chronograph, which itself is usually a module on a time-only base movement.  The RM004 is a rare split second whose movement is purpose built only as a split second.  Furthermore, the RM004's split second movement is very innovative and unlike any other split second.

3. It is one of the first Richard Milles conceived and the very first Richard Mille chronograph.

4. While watch collectors all know about Patek, Richard Mille is still relatively unknown.  But, this is changing and more collectors are starting to notice Richard Mille, and there have been lately more sales of RM watches at auction.  When it finally becomes a brand getting much more attention, collectors will especially seek the early RM watches, such as the RM004.  By then, RM004 will likely have been discontinued, making them even harder to get, and increasing further collectors' desire to acquire them.

For these reasons, I consider my RM004 to be a keeper.
