The fact is that JLC has many different irons in their fires and keep amazing us in different lines. I am sure that as time progresses the Manufacture will continue stretching the boundaries of what is possible in different lines. They certainly don't
Put all their creative eggs in one basket.

I love watches with high technology inside. But they are really mastered for me when you can easily wear them (think about the FM Aeternitas Mega 4)
Of course, in the case of the JLC gyrotourbillon, you cannot avoid a bigger size than a classic tourbillon due to its 3D revolution. But for me it is more a "strength demonstration" than a watch you can wear everyday... which is not the case of the Hybris Mechanica 11.
In the case of the Reverso Tribute to Gyro, the height is remarkable: 12, 4 mm, if I remember correctly.
Not much more than a traditional tourbillon.
A true challenge.

choice, very difficult ...... I had the Gyro on my wrist during the SIHH 2016 and was completely blown away, mesmerizing...but the Hybris Mechanica 11 is special, really special, classy, thin, a superb minute repeater and a lovely tourbillon, but the Gyro tourbillon, wow wow......so difficult to choice...
But today... i would choose the Hybris...

Cannot disagree with the comments made. I highly doubt that a gyro would end up in the master line due to the thickness of the movement. It is a king in the world of tourbillons for sure. The speed of its revolutions in two dimensions is fast in order
To improve its accuracy. Faster then the ones in the brand most notable for multi-axis tourbillons, Gruebel Forsey.
I am not sure that I totally agree with Nicolas that we shouldn't like to see more gyro models. I'm not too concerned however as they are only now starting to produce the gyro 3 so they are quite behind in their production. So hopefully they will not rush out another model. But who knows. The gyro 1 was ground breaking but if you compare that to the 4 it is a different piece all together. So who knows, maybe in the deep dark recesses of the Manufacture's skunk works department there is something new and revolutionary that will only further the line. This company does seem to have limitless possibilities. Think of my favorite series, the Duometre line. I've heard that there are other possibilities in development and I'm not worried.

Couldn't agree with you more. Maybe I'm naive but I think that it will be a rare thing to see a knock off of he gyro by others. That said we are seeing more multi axis tourbillons. I chose not to worry. I think
we will see quality prevail.

Hi Mitch, Long time! Great memories.
HMII no question. The size will suit you perfectly, it's not stupidly thick - it's a crowning piece of awesomeness for all the best reasons in tune with JLC's raison d'etre and effortlessly understated. Still a great conference watch though so you can follow the unique torb.
My personal preference though... I wonder if they could do you a custom dial with sunburst. I am just not a big fan of the English style crackle finish (can't remember the horlogical term....)

Greetings to you and yours across the pond. Yes it has been a long time, too long. But yes great memories.
By their nature any tourbillon is a conference watch but these two would certainly both be great boredom relievers during a meeting. Frankly the Gyro 4 would have me miss huge swathes of meetings.
I am ok with the HM 11 dial as it really does fly under the radar and a flashier dial may detract from its subtlety. Besides I don't think that JLC is big on one offs and the other hand it never hurt to ask.

I make do with a sweeping seconds....
for conferences. I find 2handers too slow, so this suits because of the whirlwind AND it has an overcoil to boot
But seriously, you have a nice problem.
Hmmm, I know you love art and I wonder if you could commission a dial of some description. Enamel or engraved? I'm biased but I really think the HM11 is a stand out piece. I would investigate sunburst or 'simple' guilloche. Not too blingy in my opinion.

Ha. The HM 11 is not in production yet. They still are working on the technology though I've been told that most of it is done. Once it goes into production will have to talk to my friends at the Manufacture and see what they say. Not holding my breath
though.
