Jaeger Lecoultre Master Mariner Deep Sea.
It is not every day I see a Master Mariner Deep Sea.
Less famous than the Deep Sea Alarm, Geophysic or Polaris, it doesn't lack charm.
A bit macho, more macho than the sensual Deep Sea Alarm, smaller ( 37 mm ), it has a nice presence on the wrist.
One of the very good vintage Diving Jaeger Lecoultre, to discover or re discover!

What year is it from? Good patinas on the tritium and date disc.
I'm afraid I'm a good 5 years late to the vintage party.
The train has gone full speed ahead, and I am still stuck at the station!
It is not just a cool watch, it is in an amazing condition! Look at the sharp edges of the case!!

Lovely piece. Was the depth when new also 100m? Same movement as the DSA watches, I presume. [nt]

120 meters. As for the movement, no. The DSA is Cal 815 ( Alarm automatic ) and the Deep Sea has a Cal 883 ( automatic date ). [nt]

I just saw the dual crowns and assumed it was an alarm movement... Is the case a true super compressor one? If not, how does one know whether or not the case...
is a super compressor case? Finally, what are the odds the JLC will issue tributes to the Master Mariner line? Or have they decided to focus on something totally new? I know we all are anxious to see what they do next with the "new" Geophysic series... Do you think the Geophysic true second tourbillon was a misstep? Sorry to throw all these comments and questions at you, but who else but you to ask?

As for what they will unveil at the SIHH 2018, I have an answer, a partial one, but you will have to wait...
As for the Geophysic Universal Time Tourbillon, I don't think it is a misstep. You have to see it in the real, it is a quite spectacular watch.
I will review it as soon as I can take new pictures... I lost all the pictures I took from August 2015 to the 12th of September 2017... 
Let's say that for that price, I would go on something else, but per se , it is a very interesting watch, with some charm.

Thank you, Nicolas. It would be quite cool for JLC to (re)produce another super compressor diver watch. As for my query about the Geophysic UT Tourbillon,
it occurred to me that some 10 months after its unveiling, we have heard nothing about it. That could be because at only 100 pieces it is rare, or because it still has not been released/distributed for purchase, esp given that the master anniversary trio has just been making its way into the world over the past month, or something else. But you have explained why up to this point, you haven't posted your overview and review of the watch, which we have come to expect from our JLC "insider". I hope you can recapture the important pictures that you lost. Until then, we wonder... will SIHH 2018 reveal all new sports watches, new tributes, new Geophysic additions, etc etc etc ! We hope at least one offering will tempt our will power. Marc

I don't think we'll have a new Tribute. As for the 2018 collection, it is a bit too early to speak of it... But be sure you will know all... In due time.

So, I would like to use your expertise on this watch and ask you a couple of questions, to which I could not find a reply on the www:
- some watches are marked JLC, while others LeCoultre, are these latter ones for the US market only, i.e. so called Baracuda?
- any difference between the versions with a metal frame around the date window and the ones without?
- I saw also a version marked "Swiss Made", instead of "T Swiss Made T". Also here is there any difference between these two?

Lecoultre for the US Market. Original dials should be " T Swiss Made T ". As for the metallic frame...
I saw both, with and without. My take on that is that both are correct.
