Dear JLC friends,

This is my first post so let me begin by saying thank you to all that contribute with so much knowledge to this community. I’ve been a big fan of JLC ever since my interest in finer timepieces took off around ten years ago. My journey into the brand started with the Master Calendar Reserve de Marche and followed with the Reverso Grande Taille. I’m now looking to make my next purchase and in need of some inspiration/advice in terms of building a collection. I prefer buying used so I’m not at all limited to the current catalogue. My budget is not unlimited though so unfortunately some of the more complicated alternatives will have to wait till another day. What what would you buy? Look forward to hearing what you think and thank you in advance for any recommendations. I’ll leave you with some pictures of my current JLC watches.

Funnily enough I tried this one the other day. Definitely a strong contender. Btw do you know if this caliber is tough enough for everyday use and can handle a bump or two from the kids?

To me, these two are the best introductions in the catalog from these last 4 years. 

Almost pulled the trigger on the Tribute Duo the other week at Heathrow, but couldn’t make my mind up before I had to run for the gate. Its indeed a lovely watch and the case size is great for my wrist. Hard to say no to “two” Reversos for the price of one

Now I just have to try the Geophysics as well! Ive got a few hours to kill in Schiphol next week so maybe I’m lucky enough to find one there...

Is it the complication? their sizes? Etc.

I you want to stay traditionally JLC, I think a nice chronograph or a memovox. If you want to go wilder, then the amvox 2 or a master compressor.
A more complex Reverso could also be an option but the offer is very wide!

To be honest its hard to explain. I would say both have been emotionally driven. Guess the watches just spoke to me for some reason and at the time i wasn’t thinking too much about “building” a collection.

But I can safely say that as far as the GT is concerned it definitely had to do with the case size coupled with the simple elegance of time only and fact that I wanted something in precious metal.

I have thought about going a bit “crazy” with the likes of Amvox, but hesitated a bit not knowing whether it would suit me. I guess the benefit of having several rather than one watch to go to is that you can afford to experiment a bit though.

Will definitely keep you posted and let you know what I eventually go for.

Regarding your third Jaeger, well, I think the Master blue Memovox could be a great addition in your collection.
