A quick picture of the Jaeger Lecoultre Master Compressor Diving GMT.
Titanium case, 44 mm and 46 mm, with a clear preference for the 44 mm, this watch was a character.
As you can notice, Jaeger Lecoultre opted for an indicator above 6 o clock rather than a second hand.
The second feature is the compressor crown.
The third detail is the GMT subdial.
Original, cool, this watch didn't receive the warm welcome it deserved.
But as often with artists, it is when it is discontinued that a watch has some success...

I thought it was very cool.....
a "true GMT" that was limited to 1,500 pieces in the 44mm and unlimited in the 46. Very easy to read and wear, and the titanium made it very wearable.
A great travel watch for those who like to be in and around the water a lot!

Yes! The 44 mm was very much my taste. I never pulled the trigger, waved a bit and fell in love with the Navy SEALs Alarm... Instead.

Over a decade old and looks fresh and original even today,like AMVOXs,Duometres,Extreme Labs and of course Compressors.

Well, we had the Reverso tribute tο Gyrotourbillon and Ι consider the new Polaris Memovox, as a tribute to the tribute Polaris 68.

This kind of Tribute is not really a replica of a watch which existed, in my opinion. That's pretty clear with the TT Gyro, and that is also the case for the Polaris.
The Polaris Memovox 50th anniversary is not faithful to the original Polaris. That was the game to play for the Tribute. While the 50th anniversary is clearly a modern Polaris.
Sapphire versus plexy, much less domed, flat dial, textured dial, much bigger and applied indices. The spirit is here, the DNA, too, but in a much more modern way.

Ahh, that's the JLC spirit I love!
Today, this watch still looks fresh. There's very little in its general style or detail to date/age the 44mm Diving GMT. Time will not be kind -- and had not been kind -- to many oversized sports watches of the mid-2000s, but this one looks even better with years. It would have been welcome had it been part of JLC's 2018 sporting collection.
Separately, this watch was bold on the inside as well. The great 975 Autotractor was JLC's first clean-sheet sports watch movement in decades, and it benefitted from IWC's occasionally fraught 1990s experience using the 889 base in sports watches. I always wondered why the 975 family saw so few applications in the manufacture's model lines, although it is fair to say that many Autotractor innovations were adapted to the 889 and derivatives. Fortunately, the 770 and 772 of today's Geophysic line are direct descendants of this caliber, so perhaps the future remains bright.

Thanks for your interesting input, Tim. Yes, this MC Diving GMT doesn't look outdated at all, after what? 12 years? Which is not that evident for a watch with such a strong personality.
It was well thought, and well designed.
I think the future is bright, and that we'll see some exciting watches, in a close future. Jaeger Lecooultre is Jaeger Lecoultre, they HAVE to feed our dreams. And even, to go over our dreams, our expectations.
