On a related note, 2007 and the Duometre seems in retrospect to be a significant turning point in JLC dial design history. Before, I can scarcely recall any granular or "grained" dial finishes. Since then, there have been many on all classes of watch from simple to grand complication. This Reverso Tribute Calendar is an excellent example of the practice, and your photo captures the texture well.
That grainy dial really pops adding some crispness to it! One draw back of silver dials to me is sometimes they appear a bit sloppy under some lighting conditions and this may obviate that! [nt]
