I found interesting to see the material before and after having been worked.

Superb watch and photo. Strange to think that that little piece of meteorite...
...had been wandering through space for millions of years before becoming that beautiful dial. Regards Kev.
Here's what JLC has to say about the material used to make this dial:
"Meteorites are fragments of asteroids that travel around the solar system for millions, or even billions, of years. The one chosen here is over 4 billion years old. Having fallen to earth some 800,000 years ago, it was discovered in Sweden and comes from the asteroid belt located between Mars and Jupiter."

The age of this material is mind-boggling in and of itself. But, I also find it amazing to know that it came from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. I think that Frank Sinatra may well have provided the theme music for this watch: "Fly me to the moon, and let me play among the stars. Let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars." 😉

Yes, the steel one especially was hard to find at boutiques before it got discontinued. I have met 2 other people who own one though.
