Big, thick, macho, curious ( the combination of a diving watch with a Geographique complication and a mechanical depth gauge ), this watch was a daring offer from Jaeger Lecoultre. It had its fans and its detractors.

Oh yes, this is the Master Compressor Navy SEALs Pro Geo. I had it in my hands at the sIHH when it was unveiled. I still remember the weight.

I still remember it looked ridiculous on my wrist but doable on the wrist of my friend. And yes, the weight. I wonder how you would ever get back to the surface if you went diving with this watch 🤣

the JLC mechanism is with a membrane that expands and contracts according to the water pressure exercised on it.
The brilliant idea governing this mechanism was sparked in minds of JLC engineers by the Atmos clock.
As we know the Atmos mechanism is driven by a gas capsule that expands and contracts according to the variations in atmospheric pressures.
This principle has been applied to creating the depth gauge of the JLC watch.

A nice reminder of JLC and the Master Compressors
This was a beast if ever there was one. i enjoyed it and am very glad to have experienced it for a time. I still have high regards for this piece and wish for more exciting pieces like this from JLC.

A great reminder
I had one of these jumbo's 10 yrs ago, when i searched the pics i didn't realize it was so long allready .... it's not in my collection anymore but sometimes i regret that i sold it because it was very original.
