Greetings ALl- I just purchased a new MC Memovox. It took my AD some time to locate one since that model is discontinued. THe watch is beautiful and it looks great on my wrist. NOw I have some questions....
1. Does the date 'flip' at midnight or does it take some time to change?
2. Has anyone experienced a clicking where the strap is connected to the head of the watch?
3. what other color straps does JLC offer? Or the webiste of a nice strap-maker is acceptable.
4. Can I post pictures using photobucket or do i need a different service? (i use Photobucket on TImezone)
Thanks. I will post pictures soon.
Hello - hope I can answer some of your questions...
1/ The date is a gradual change from what I recall - I'm not usually up to see mine change though. ;-)
2/ I don't recall any such clicking noise - what strap do you have on it (gator or rubber)?
3/ I have seen the following starps on this model....
Black with white stitching (what I received with my watch)
Dark brown with white stitching
Tan - not my favourite colour by any means.....
Rubber - I have mine on a black rubber JLC strap most of the time since it is my "sport" watch.
Bracelet - this is available for the watch but for me the rubber strap is better - not a bracelet fan myself.
4/ I have never used Photobucket so I'm not sure. There is a photo uploader here that you can use if you like.
Cheers, Al
All- Thanks for your response
I received the brown with white stitching strap from my AD. I am a law student so I usually go to bed around 2am or so!! The alarm is excellent but I am not sure if it will be able to wake me up in the morning (heavey sleeper)!! Oh well, there are so many other uses for the alarm!! Very pleased so far!! any idea how much a new strap is? I saw the bracelet and am not a fan of it!! Thanks for your comments/help. -Matt
The straps aren't exactly inexpensive, but your dealer can fill you in on the options. For me having the gator and the rubber strap gives me the two options I need. The watch is normally on the rubber strap though.
A shot of it for your review.....using some habanero chilis for colour. Love them!
For me the alarm is enough to wake me. I'm not exactly a light sleeper either.
Certainly the tone of the alarm on this watch is a lot nicer than some other alarm watches out there, such as those based on the AS 5008 (more of a buzz than a bell). Also, I like the fact that I can manually wind the alarm and control it's duration, so for office use it's great as those in adjacent offices don't have to isten to the full duration if I use the alarm for meeting reminders. ;-)
Cheers, Al
And by all means please feel free to use this image. No problem with me and I'm glad you enjoyed the photo.
Cheers, Al
thank you for the kind words. i need to do a lot more reading about my watch and learn about its full history. the watch is 41.5mm so it must be a 'big' Grand Duagher of the Polaris!! i doubt any ladies would wear this type of watch.
i will wear the MC Memovox when my actiivty will not really harm the watch; otherwise i will wear my Rolex GMT for banging around..
i will take some pictures with my camera phone since need to get a new digital camera. i will sign up for imageshack. as a separate question, does photobucket not work o nthis website? Thanks for your help. -Matt
p.s. as an ex-law student, does that mean you're practicing law??
Nicolas- Excellent shots of that watch. Does the alarm sound a lot differnet than the SS or Gold versions?
I will definitely spend a good amount of time reading about the watch, since my second semester just started, so not much reading yet!
what type of law do you practice (if that is appropriate for this forum)?
Also, do I need to send anything to JLC? I have the warranty page which has the ADs name stamped on the back. but otherwise the document has nothing else filled in. Thanks!!! -Matt
Greetings All- WHile the paper booklet does have the AD stamp, it does not have a purhcase date. in all honesty, how will JLC know when the watch was purchased, and therefore if the warranty is still in effect when the watch comes in for servicing? Thanks. -Matt
