this one has been on my list for a long time, but I am dreaming of the one in steel. I think there are a few steel watches that offer such an assembly of complications at such a price level. Now, if JLC ever make the steel case with a black dial - I am the first in line.....

but such a big and bold watch deserves the steel casing. It is not so sporty as the other gold watches I have so that is why I await....

Yes, this PC is simply marvellous, complete and original too, as I think that this is the only one PC to have an alarm function.

You can also choose between the alarm and the vibration, which is very clever from JLC, if, for example, you're in a meeting, and if you want to remind something important to do without ..alarming your neighbours.

I strap this one on I have a real moment of sheer pleasure.

Then I think to my self.  This mechanical marvel can handle leap years and normal annual variations all on the fly.

I can't help but smile at this accomplishment - and this will be the case for some  +/- 122 years.

Boy I love this watch.  Can't wait for their Duometer as I think I will get the same Joy.

There some Purists gathering around the globe that will be focused on the month end jump.

There are not many watches, however, that will do the "leap" just after midnight.  I am pretty sure mine will occur over a one or two hour period.  So I am not sure what to expect.

Anyone know for sure??

Thanks for the advice regarding my Master Grande Reveil. I've decided to sent the watch to Richemont in HK to get the date, moonphases, leap year calibrated. One question, is Grande Reveil a quantieme perpetual calendar?

Value-wise, I am not that concerned. This one is a definite keeper along with the IWC Deep One. I'm quite surprised what the market value is right now comparing to back when I bought it in 2003, I believe. Another great job from the boys at JLC.

Hey, BTW, you also have a IWC Deep One?

I owned one too, and sadly sold it...Stupidly, I admit!

Regarding the scans, would it be alright if I post them on the JLC forum? at the end of the day, the heart of the watch is pure JLC.

JLC launched in 2007 a Depth meter, and I think that JLC has sometrhing to see with the Deep One, so a scan on the JLC forum has its natural place!

Incredible watch and magnificent pictures!!!

Hi all,

Well, this is the watch that introduced me to "JEAGER" world. Technically, it is not a JLC. But deep deep down, the IWC Deep One is equipped with a world's first mechanical depth gauge movement. And yes, it works. Tried and tested.

The Deep One comes with a 'pump-like' apparatus that checks whether the depth gauge is still functioning. What strikes me most is the winding of the movement. SILENT and SMOOTH. At first I thought that there was something wrong with the watch.

Even though, aesthetically it is very similar to the Aquatimer models, the heart is in a totally different league.

After the Deep One, then came the Master Grande Reveil.

Here are a few scans of the Grande Reveil. Even though, my photography skills aren't as good as Bill's. Well, this is what me and my camera could do...

I decided to change the gator strap to a aftermarket carbon fiber strap for a more sporty look.

JLC Master Grande Reveil in S/S. My first JLC and it would definitely not be my last.

Its abite late but better than never!Just came back from Chinese New Year Holiday.lOLOL...

Everything i love on this pc of perpetual Except the alarm sound.The sound tone play is out of the expected i supoosed,besides that everything is perfect and furthermore.looking at its price for a perpetual is definately worth considering if you are going for a perpetual.

I have never set the alarm either on sound or on vibrate.

I just love the watch for the look and the Perpetual mystery.

Grande complications are like a piece mysterious art. I've used the alarm when other buddies of mine wants to hear what it sound like. Vibrate mode? Enough said.

About the Deep One, I'm certainly not a diver, but I just wanted to see what my money spent on that watch was worth it or not.

Bill, at the end of the day it feels satisfying to know that on your wrist you could tell what southern hemisphere sky is like, it could be set to alarm or vibrate. Will we ever use it on day to day basis? Doubt it.

But it feels nice to know that it can.

I totally agree with you - a total conversation breaker.

But I don't know whether this has happened to you. But it gets annoying after a while when people at parties say to you - "Hey Pana, this is guy told me your watch has an alarm. Can you show it to us?"

After winding and setting the alarm hand, you get "wow". Imagine that happening you go out.

And the problem is that those people who ask you are mostly men, not women!
