Hello Fellow Purists,
I always dreamed that my first JLC would the MMR Titanium but that was not to be (still on order though), I was offered this piece a month ago and I kept researching and learning more about it, my dealer was kind enough to keep it on hold for me till I made up my mind and alas I picked her up last night, what a beauty and it runs deep, really respect the technical innovation JLC is bringing to the table in this piece.
Small Observations: I don't like the strap at all, its really tacky and I ordered a black calfskin strap with red stitching for it, if you have any other ideas please do tell me.
Second thing is that I don't really care for the Aston Martin connection, I mean I like Astons, cool cars and all but I think JLC has enough brand equity and technical expertise to stand on its own two feet instead of using Aston Martin as a value enhancer.
Third the hands and sub dials are not very luminous...or maybe I'm used to the immense brightness that my Panerais give off, regardless could have been alot better.
I think these are all very small issues and in no way negate the awesomeness of this piece. Enough of my ramblings and on with the show
I hope this picture captures the multi-faceted dial, quite a visual treat
Hope you Enjoyed the Pics

The strap is indeed the weak part, on a great majority of JLC watches.
But you won't have any problem to find the one you'll love.
Great watch, BTW...Great design, great presence on the wrist, great originality.
This A II is a marvellous companion.
Best.

a wrist shot?
I think you have to get used to the fact that the straps are going to be different. I would recommend to order the DBS strap, it's much nicer and special.
Regarding the luminescence, remember this is not a tool diving watch
Actually, the subdials themselves are luminous and work quite well.
Regarding co-branding with AM, I agree that there is a general problem with this co-branding fashion. Saying that, I think JLC did a great job and took the design to another level. This is not just putting a brand on the dial, it is really designing the concept of the watch with the AM car in mind. Just look at the red visible mechanism at 6 and how it resembles the sporty calipers.
Anyway, I am sure you will enjoy this innovative watch. Now get rid of that trouble-making Ferrari of yours and get the AM!!! LOL

I totally agree the execution of the design, the technical developments and look of the watch is fantastic and in keeping with the theme and you know I have a soft spot for anything on 4 wheels
LoooL, I got rid of my Cavallino some time ago and it has been replaced with a LWB G55 Amg, I particularly like the Astons from the 70s and early 80s, maybe I'll find a good deal one of these days, Hope all is well with you and the family,
All the Best,
S
Enjoy it but make sure the APs don't get jealous!
I decided to go for the PP5712 as it is a bit smaller than the Amvox 2 and fits my skinny wrist better but I really like the look of the Amvox.
All the best

Will try my friend
but I keep in mind that APs and JLCs are cousins so its all good
Major Congrats on the Noughty
gorgeous piece of kit that, I remember reading your post about considering either watch while I was researching whether I should go for the Amvox or not.
No worries I'll wear the Amvox for the both of us
Cheers Jon
