I saw the latest Omega central tourbillon in Macau (the one w/ open dial, black finishing), and kept on staring at it with an open mouth, until the sales people worried about me. But I think I still prefer this reverso skeleton. Must compare both watches side by side.

for some reason I can't appreciate the slightly industrial styling of the Nr. 2 skeleton tourbillon, it just doesn't look right to me. But the Nr. 1 is JLC's best tourbillon of the last 20 years in terms of size, finish and price; I also love the fact that it is so discreet. The current crop of multi-axis and lubrication free tourbillons are impressive from a technical perspective but they don't speak to me.

Hi Art,

If I love the skeleton , the Reverso Platinum Number 2 with its hidden tourbillon is indeed one of my three favorite tourbillon with the Omega and the Gyro 2 , and certainly my Reverso Grail (the Gyro 2 not being a "reasonable" dream option).

I live just 20 minutes outside of the BH area and have been very temped to visit the JLC in person. Having a very 'squirly' resistance to ultra fine watches I have been staying away.

. . . long term, but I still have hopes of someday  acquiring a 'mythological' watch when I retire, and the Skeleton Reverso is just that, a watch with mystical allure that I can barely rationalize.  It is one of very few watches that I would accord the title of 'last watch' . . . I only hope that a watch of mythical proportions will be a reality when I'm at the end of my horological journey.  Cordially, Art
