This year, and thanks to you and this forum I´ve discover this Grande Maison...

thanks to this forum, always I´m learning and enjoying this great watches world... I´ve discover and learn more that in more years ago in my watches life.

I´ve discover the great work made by JLC today and the amazing work made by JLC in the past. I´ve discover the really beauty in lots of vintage models... I´ve caught the virus, indeed.

I think that I must add some JLC in my little collection... I hope that next years I´ll be able to do it.

The more I learn about this manufacture, the more I respect their history and achievements.

For me, 2008 was quite a good JLC year....let me see...:

- Participated in the unveiling of the Polaris at the Paris boutique
- Participated in a Master Class in Copenhagen in May
- Bought an Atmos in June
- Bought a pre-owned Master Control Geographic in August
- Participated in a Master Class in Paris in December
- Got a new strap for my Amvox 2 in December

....and on top of this comes all the time spent on this forum (mostly lurking...) and other fora.

Looking forward to 2009 to see what JLC comes up with...and I might be sending my Polaris off to JLC for service. Still considering whether I can go without it for several months...;-)

I sold off watches that were superfluous like my Master Compressor Dualmatic and Master Hometime. Bought nothing new from JLC, but had my Master Grande Taille and wg Master Perpetual serviced (yikes!) and bought new straps as alternatives for my Reverso GMT and Duo. All the watches now get more wrist time. The only new JLC that has made me stop in my tracks was the Boutique edition previous generation wg black dial Master Hometime...

I would love to see JLC do more with the Duometre platform in terms of complications, and also add more complications to the Reverso line. And are there more interesting back catalogue watches like the Polaris that JLC might consider reintroducing?

Well, to be accurate, I was first introduced to JLC by Domenic at my friendly neighborhood AD in late October 2007 and had the EWC on my wrist Christmas Day 2007.  But 2008 was my first year living with JLC.  I had the opportunity to try on many other JLCs during the year.  Domenic has been VERY patient with me as I considered the first watch and then subsequently the next watch or two.  I have learned so much here on this forum thanks to Nicolas and all of you who participate.  Thank you!

But frankly, you have all made life much more difficult.  If asked, I could easily list a dozen JLC models that I REALLY would like to have, and some of them are quite expensive for me.  I don't sleep well anymore.  My accounts are delpted, and that is not entirely due to the economy.  Considering I did not know JLC at all just a little over a year ago, this is quite a big new problem for me. 

That said, I hope to get anotherJLC in 2009.  This forum has definitely fanned the flames for me, as it is by far the liveliest and most interesting one on JLC, and perhaps across all watch and watch brand forums.

hi Nico, i find this year 2008 is a fruitful and productive year for me. for watch collection, i started to appreciate JLC more and more, and most importantly, i have gotten my first 2 JLC watches, although both of them are still in round sharp, i hope the rentangular one will be coming soon...

btw, many thanks once again for your excellent effort as JLC moderator for us, greatly appreciate it. look forward to hearing more outstanding report and seeing more beatiful pics to come in 2009, 2010, 2011, .....

2008 was my initiation year in JLC. I am super happy and extremely lucky to having come across one of my grail watches, a Polaris.

The thing that surprises me the most, even more than the watches themselves, is the willingness of all the people who work at JLC to answer any question you may have and with whom you find someone to share your passion with. This is were I think JLC's success lies. In the friendly faces that are always willing to go out of their way to help us fulfill a life's dream.

Cheers to them, and cheers to all the Purists who participate in this forum, particularly to Nicolas, our moderator, for making it an extension of our home.

JLC's for the future? You bet! Hard to pick one model, as I have several on my mind, but the MUT is one that really sings to me.

This was clearly a very good year for me since it was during this year that I discovered JLC.
In August I was able to obtain the LE version of the MC Diver GMT and experienced first
hand the quality and beauty of a "real" watch. I was so impressed that two months later I
purchased my second JLC, a Reverso Duo.
Since joining this forum I have learned a great deal about this "manufacture" and about the
passion it creates in the hearts of its devotees. I thank all of the participants, especially Nicolas,
for sharing both their knowledge and their passion. Happy New Year to all.

Most of all, on the 3rd of January, it will be one year that I moderate with Jerome this JLC Forum.

And it was ( and still is ) an extraordinary experience, thanks to JLC, because they helped me a lot in providing me informations, scans, but also in offering for several years now, some extraordinary and / or lovely pieces, and thanks to YOU ALL, because of your Friendship, your Enthusiasm.

Believe me, a Moderator is nothing without a good Manufacture, great Readers,.... and ...Passion.

Therefore, I was lucky enough to finnaly find some pieces I hunted for a long time , like the Deep Sea Alarm, or the Black Memovox.

I was also able to include some great pieces, like the Perpetual Calendar Skeleton, or the Duo Metre.

And I saw the birth of the Polaris, which was something extraordinary!

The awesome thing with JLC is that there is something unique, like a Balance between the very rich Past, and the Prolific Present.

So the choice ,the temptations are wide, indeed.

I'm very confident that JLC will amaze us in the years to come, but yes, for all these reasons, 2008 was a superb year, thank to YOU, and thank to " La Grande Masion ".

What else to add, except a big, huge, sincere and friendly...THANKS!
