First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL.

That is a lovely watch. I've never tried a leather NATO, is there a reason (comfort?) behind installing it buckle downwards?

I like to strap supplied with the Polaris, but its fitting does not work for me.
Calf Nato strap is my solution for comfort and look.

This Combo is awesome, my friend.

I didn't imagine to put a Nato Strap on the Polaris as the 65 is a bit sophisticated, but now, I'm thinking of it.

And a Leather Nato may be one of the nicest solution, for the 65.

Did you try a " normal " Nato, already?

But it's true that coming from you, the Master of the Straps, I would have expected such a surprise!

Where did you get this strap? Is there a nylon strap available? It looks great and I think it will go great with the 68 Polaris

...as I'm planning a dive with my Polaris '68, and the only thing stopping me now is the tropical leather strap.

I'm waiting for some NATO straps to arrive and will be putting one on and planning the dive with a little more precision. I think I'll end up taking the watch down in a pouch and then strapping it on. Doing it all on shore or boat will probably result in scratches all over the crystal, what with tanks, hoses, BCD buckles etc.

The Polaris is indeed made for that!

To have a life, a Diving, active life.

And it doesn't matter if the plexy is not too deeply scratched, you can polish it.

As for the straps, I'm working on it.

Maybe at the end of this month, I will have something to show, but the Nato is IMO, and thanks to YO, a nice and interesting solution, indeed.

I think that the way I treat my regular dive watch, being my Submariner, the plexi won't survive one morning's dive, not to mention the dings on the case when I'm setting up gear and moving around tanks, hoses, regulators etc.

The question is to know if JLC has any other plexy available.

My guess is yes, but I will have to ask.

In this case, it is not a problem to live and dive with, as dings or hairlines are not important, and I'd even say that they would be considered as signs of Life, and will certainly add a lot of charm to this watch.

I must confess I'm not a big fan of this type of strap.

The main issue with NATO G10s is that the two layers of strap material under your watch makes it sit a little high. Great for hitting on doorframes but also stops the watch conforming to your wrist.

There are "RAF" versions available that do away with the keeper, so there's only one layer under the watch. Though, in most cases, I have just cut awyay the keeper. It's pretty redundant on most watches with lugs that are in-line.
