1/ The Amvox II, with its particular vertical trigger pivoting case, which is used in place of the classic Chrono pushers.



2/ The Duometre à Chronographe:

"One watch, 2 brains " as for the 2 barrels, each for the Time function, and for the Chrono function, only one pusher to " pilot " the Chrono, and, cherry on the cake, a foudroyante second.

- The same philosophy:

The same expression of Tradition and Innovation, perfectly summed with these 2 very different watches, but which share these values.

Sporty and a bit " concept watch " looking, or a faithful expression of nice Horology, on which of these 2 sides are you?

Though i got to admit that the chrono mechanism is quite interesting, original,... one down side, u will end up have a perfect finger print on ur watch  when activating the chrono, and another when stopping it.
The thing that bothers me the most though is the shape of the hands, especially the minutes, reminds me of something really naughty

You will avoid the fingerprints, and you will e in the spirit of the watch, imagining that you activate the Chrono while driving your Aston...

... they let ur finger breath ... Anyway u put it, ur gonna get ur finger prints at noon and at 6 o'clock. Focusing on the duometre right now, my mind still on it. She is on the top of my JLC list. That's the one i want put my finger on... and in RG!

Call me conservative, but I'm not very much fond of concept watches. Duometre is one of the best examples of true horology in the current market. And it is also a good lesson for high end brands that inovation in movements is always possible. Despite its bulky size IMO, it is a beautiful looking chronograph. Wish it were smaller and thinner.

Its not just the design of the dial, and the complication of its movement, but I really am impressed with the accuracy of its chronograph display. 

tough decision, indeed.

In terms of Oure Horology, the Duo is the winner, of course, but the A II is a so lovely watch...

Thankfully I am fortunate enough to own both of these amazing chronos but put a gun to my head and I must choose the Duometre.  It is just a joy to view in motion.

The Passion just feeds our Greediness, my friend.

When I saw the Amvox II at the end of 2005, I was completely mad about it, and it is still honeymoon, Ian.

My purpose with this post was not to say that one is better than the other, but only to give an Hommage to both of them, an Hommage to their qualities, their originality, but also an Hommage to JLC Creativity.

Of course they are very different, but they have their won ( and strong ) appeal!

Enjoy your A II, Ian, and go on dreaming on the Duo Metre.

...especially on a Monday!  Although, I suppose it is already Tuesday for you, Nicolas.  I love both these watches, so picking a favorite from between the two is a little torturous! 

Reasons I'm for the Duometre: harmoniously balanced dial; flying seconds (So festive!); innovative new movement (Which I'm not even sure I understand completely -- I hope there's not a test later!); and a nod to classicism in the watch's presentation and execution.

Reasons I'm for the Amvox II: sporty dial featuring dynamic, yet judicious use of color; organic, and well-executed incorporation of the automobile motif; unusual chrono trigger mechanism (Very cool!); and a modern design that exudes a certain joie de vivre.

Both watches have a unique and substantial wrist presence, and I can't imagine ever regretting the purchase of either timepiece (If I had the funds, of course!).  Forget it!  I can't choose between the two!

It is so nice to see these two considered together and photographed so beautifully. 

For me, they both represent what is so exciting about Jaeger LeCoultre: the harmonious marriage of horological innovation and breathtaking design. Even though it is difficult to compare the two, they are each distinctively JLC, each offering strong evidence of the brand's DNA.  What is so wonderful about paring these two marvels for consideration is that  you ask us to reflect on how JLC has advanced the mechanical chronograph in recent years. The AMVOX challenges the very concept of how we intereact with our watches with its pusherless design; the Duo innovates on the high end of movement design and execution that challenges the foremost examples of chonographs for the top spot in this category.    

You did the right thing, the only thing, Nicolas, and got them both.  How could you not?

Both are  favorites of mine among all watches.  In the end, the AMVOX continues to make my heart beat a little faster.  Every time I see the AMVOX2, I am once again caught up in the longing. How is it that I still ldo not have this watch?  LOL
