Can anyone confirm just how many of the 768 pieces produced actually have the original fully luminated dial?
I posed this same question to my local AD recently. I was advised that they asked representatives from JLC who stated the approximate number sold was around 30 pieces. Has anyone else here been able to confirm an official total?

I greatly appreciate your input, I have been watching this board ever since I learned about about the POLARIS early last year. The members here have always had more insight and information even before my AD's have learned anything. As a fledgling collector I am very grateful for such a resource.
Lucky for me I hedged my bets on this watch with more than one of my AD sources and recieved 2 of the time pieces. Thankfully 1 of them came with the original 1st version dial which is the one I decided to keep for myself. Without the knowledge that I got from this site I would never have been aware of the subtle differences made by JLC on the model. Many thanks again, and keep up the great work everyone.

I considered keeping them both, but decided it would be better just to put the funds into expanding my options. Sorry about the quality of the Image.
Best Regards,

Hi Nicolas,
Do you think that JLC would ever consider doing a replacement version of the dial that had the lum of the 12,6,9 applied to the indices as well. I for one would happily purchase it if it was available.

Hi Nicolas,
As always thanks for responding to my post. I do sincerely hope they reconsider. It really saddens me that they have not managed to resolve the problem. As I said in my previous post I would have liked to have the option of a dial that has the indices in the same colour as the 12,9,6.
It is a fantastic watch no question there and I love wearing it, but it is slightly let down by the lum factor in my humble opinion. A diver’s watch specifically should be luminous irrespective of whether we actually use it for that purpose or not.
Stay well and thanks for a fantastic forum
